Second half of Scotland v NZ was brilliant. I’m worried for 6N now. Think we (Ireland) could end up 4th
Very good win for England.
A lot more variety in the style of play these days compared to last year; maybe a sign Borthwick is getting more confident and not just telling them to box kick all the time. If we maintain this form I might start to be a lot more optimistic about what Borthwick can do with this England squad.
Wales playing with two more than Japan and not looking like they’ve got an advantage
Think the second yellow decision should have been a red, but can’t be too many complaints if Wales don’t win as they’ve done sod all with a two man advantage
As I say this the Welsh 11 looks like he’s done something that should be a red too.
Not sure how we won that. We did not deserve to. Japan were better for the large majority of the game. We have an incredible ability for mistakes and the spectacularly stupid, Josh Adams red card case in point
Was in Cardiff earlier today I assume the performance was like some of the fans (barely able to stand up).
Sounds like the wobblies have really fallen. Icing on the cake is that it’s a Canberran and former Brumby with 3 tries doing it. Lovely schadenfreude for the team in gold after all the Pacific islanders they’ve pinched over the years.
21-0 at the 60 minute to losing. Poor ending from Scotland.
Can’t lie, prefer the rugby Argentina play though
Yeah that was the part of the lions tour discourse that was so dumb. Maybe if you didn’t pick so many Tongans the “real aussies” wouldn’t have to go to,Ireland to get international recognition
The argument between the WRU and it’s clubs continues with Dragons owners walking out of a meeting
I simply cannot get my head around what the WRU have become. This is not the first time they’ve pulled a stunt like this.
Well that was a fun watch. Wales went toe to toe with the All Blacks for 50 minutes or so before the penalty count and missed tackles took its toll.
Lots to take from it, including the fact this team scores tries. A lot more positive than I was 6 months ago.
Rugby World Cup draw:
Pool A New Zealand, Australia, Chile, Hong Kong
Pool B South Africa, Italy, Georgia, Romania
Pool C Argentina, Fiji, Spain, Canada
Pool D Ireland, Scotland, Uruguay, Portugal
Pool E France, Japan, USA, Samoa
Pool F England, Wales, Tonga, Zimbabwe
Some pretty easy groups considering Winners, Runners up and 4 3rd placed teams go through.
I’d say pool E is probably one of the few where final positions are still uncertain.
This makes no sense to me. I assume they mean the limit is the top of the sternum, but I have no idea how someone is supposed to judge that differently than the current standard of shoulder since they are essentially the same height
Off loads galore in coming.
Yet the glaring issue of the bench size and number of subs remains untouched.
Excellent result and performance from the Saints today. If we can stave off injuries this year it could be a very special one.
Article doesn’t say who, but bidder approved for Cardiff. Big worry would be Y11 and then having Cardiff and ospreys merged.
Edit. Now confirmed that it’s Y11. That’ll expedite the merging of Cardiff and Ospreys.
Yep. I’m deeply uncomfortable with it but I appreciate that we cannot afford to run 4 regions.
How can you field a successful international side based on pool of say 90 professional players? Excluding those outside Wales of course
There is a part of me that thinks Welsh clubs would have done better by joining the English system one of the times it was offered; it still might be beneficial for both Welsh clubs and the Prem to have it expanded. But it ain’t gonna happen so I suppose there’s no real point in thinking about it.
I can’t disagree. Completely sensible.
I wasn’t aware but Brexit killed Welsh rugby as well. The WRU were given an EU grant every year for player development. Gone..
