Moved to here. Ja, their Airborne Command and control is fucked. In a wider peer to peer conflict they’d be severely hampered.
It was a remarkable strike, but also a stark warning to NATO and the U.S about the use of these weapons in an assymetric way. With good Intel and infiltration and the relatively cheap nature of these drones, no major airbase or facility can now claim to be completely beyond strike capability,no matter how far from the front line. Point defense systems must surely come to the forefront of thinking to protect land based assets. Imagine going around 10-15 years ago and saying 1/3rd of Russias Strategic Bomber Fleet would be dismantled without a large scale air and missile attack.
And ja, their new stealth bomber thingy is a pipe dream for the Russians. They can barely get a squadron of SU-57’s operational and even those have no real world credentials yet. Might as well be Hitlers Wunderwaffe at this point, along with the Armata.
