The Space Thread

I’m not, you’ll note this isn’t SpaceX it’s Peter Beck’s Rocket Labs. Nasa is using 70s Shuttle engines which it ditches permanently in the sea after spending $000s having the refurbished. Boeing and NASA have been on the gravy train for too long with SLS. Stick to the science stuff (JWST) and leave the big rockets to those who think a little more modernly than VVB.

Erm, yes they have, happened today.

Oddly it reminds me of a toilet seat…

Not a bad analogy. Near the edge of no return

Spend 40 minutes with Elon. No script, just him. The guy obviously isn’t wired in the normal sense but he knows his shit. Good luck SN42

Star Trek Wow GIF

Interestingly I was listening to a programme the other day where 2 independent groups of scientists had tried to recreate the black hole images of the Event Horizon Telescope. A group from Japan were highly critical of the process used to create that first image of M87 and actually questioned its validity. They really question some of the assumptions EHT have made. The second group were equally pissed because there’s a load of missing steps and procedures from the EHT meaning that recreating that image by following their steps is extremely difficult. They’ve had to make loads of their own assumptions and even their own software.

Though potentially the greatest finding of all time, it could equally just be a microwave being switched on somewhere along the road…

Monitoring if the M class flare will impact our satellites, and X class flare will impact our power grid.
