My money is on a Magnetar

The physics of this is (are?) really interesting. One batch going down is pretty good going given the huge number of launches they’ve sent up.

Going to see Tim Peake in Manchester tomorrow night (Christmas present from Mrs). Jnr has a headache Monday morning so won’t be in till lunchtime. Accordingly we’ve booked a nice meal and a room for the night. We only come this way once  Coxy later in the year, Jnr’s REALLY going to love him….

The rocket’s only half the story, all the ground stuff has to work too.

These landings continue to be stunning. I’m less accurate with a dart after 4 pints.

Basic but still light years ahead of NASA:

But NASA aren’t in competition. Impressive none the less.

Which is why NASA can spunk money on 70s tech with no recompense. That’s why we need private sector business being brilliantly imaginative.

That’s just not right or fair. NASA fulfills projects that compete to get on the sausage machine. Other stuff is the whim of one person with the biggest bucket of Lego ever.

No one out there has put forward projects for catching spent rockets. Their focus is on research projects like James Webb, Mars rovers etc.

How was the method of landing a rover on Mars not innovative? Even the space shuttle ticked that box at that time.

What SpaceX is doing is impressive but I don’t think it’s right to dismiss everyone else when they are also doing impressive stuff.
