I was surprised that Conte came out and said that. There goes whatever little morale has left in the squad.
Alli has to be the most spectacular declines I have ever seen in such a promising player, complete waste of talent.
It is not actually as bad as all that in the context of everything else he was saying, which was essentially that it is going to take some time.
But it does make for one hell of a quote.
Well I had never heard of the other mob which makes it even better.
But they are still 2nd in the betting at 11. So I have a nudge now right? Or will Mou do the usual and jag a trophy for Roma this time. They are 8’s and Mou does give a shit about any trophy.
Assuming they win the next game Spurs will play a Europa drop out to progress probs. What a laugh.
“I am happy to stay here but at the same time I must be honest and tell you we need to work a lot to improve the quality of the squad.”
This is the quote that really should have set Levy alarm bells ringing. He sounds like he thinks he’s been conned.
I dont think that is what he is trying to say, merely setting expectations to be low as it will need a lot of work to turn Spurs round.
There are still good players at this club to be fair, but they don’t deliver on a regular basis at this moment in time. He’s probably trying all tricks in his locker to get a reaction from his players.
The level already started dropping under Poch, continued to do so (or it didn’t improve much) under two next managers and now it’s not surprising if Conte needs time. He isn’t used to this, the job at Tottenham is something different to what he had. This side isn’t what they were at their peak under Poch, it’s lost quite a few of it’s important elements. Some are still there and are great players, some are still there but are older and/or not performing like they were. It’s Tottenham at the end of the day, the frustration at that place grows because they have amazing infrastructure. That doesn’t make them a winning side on the football pitch over night. Especially with the competition in England in last years and now.
“This team is a load of old shite but I’ll do my best. No promises”.
Maybe he’s looked at the squad, looked at his contracts’ severance fee, and decided to sink the ship and walk away with his booty.
Mura plays its Conference League home matches (including the yesterday’s one v. Spurs) at Ljudski vrt stadium in Maribor, because their normal home stadium where they play Slovenian League matches does not meet the UEFA standards.
Fun fact: the stadium where Spurs lost yesterday is the same ground where the Reds demolished the (real) home team Maribor 0-7 in the Champions League group stage four years ago.
Was at that game 0-7 game, really good away day. Also watched Stevie’s U19 team play Maribor in Lendava, the morning of the game. Was only our second CL group stage win in 8 years.
And yeah, Mura are traditionally not even one of Slovenian’s biggest clubs. So last night was probably their most famous win in their history. Who other than Spursy.
Didn’t take long, did it.
That these people travelled from Texas to a match abandoned because of snow is pretty much the most Spursy thing ever…
Some positive points from Kane’s PR-team after the summer he’s had.
But the best bit is “when you’re next in London”.
Spursy.
I would have invited them around for dinner and let them pose for photos with my dribble-crusted chin if I’d been him.
But only next time they’re in London.
By the time I wrote this post, Kane just earned their entire family the whole trip.
So that means the invite is not all this while they are in London?
But if they just nip over to a nearby city and then get back all in the space of a few hours or overnight, then they certainly qualify for the “when you’re next in London” clause.
The USA couple: “Our dearest 'Arry, we are now going away; to Southampton for a short visit and and will return latest by the next morning. As such, our next time in London will be in time for Spur’s upcoming home game on Dec 3rd. We look forward to receiving your formal invitation in the next few days.”
I saw that headline and the caption and I thought he offered to have them at his home. Instead it was a ‘next time you’re in London affair’. The press really does know how to lay it on thick. What exactly has he saved?
