The Spursy Thread

Hopefully they have to play Leicester next week, won’t be happy if that’s cancelled as well

The Prem needs crystal clear covid rules. What are the obligations on the club to play the game? How many players can be missing with covid? Is there deeper scrutiny on vaccination, and whether not being vaccinated is a factor in not being able to fulfill the fixture?

And so on.

We’ve been living with covid for a long time now. I’m surprised the Prem doesn’t have the rules buttoned down.

Villa are the only ones who have it seems been forced to play and that was the FA Cup.

Be interesting to know if any of these cases are serious and with the vaccine numbers at 50% whether they had it. After Kimmich players need to aware of that.

They keep everybody in the dark about how many cases they actually have.

The government doesn’t have the rules buttoned down either…

Most other teams seem to have got it right …TH seem to have made a right mess of it…or is it coz the pressure is getting to them…

I find this particularity annoying because they have 2 games over the next 7 days, and no idea if they have a chance of being played.

Leicester had a outbreak and yet seem to have managed it effectively.

I think another team did as well, 92 league clubs, 72 of which have to pay for their own testing system and yet Spurs have a outbreak for a second time.

Absolutely, but I expect more of the serious people at the Prem.

The jokers running government are crap.

Apparently they’ve been back in training today…

At least in way that means they will play a game this week.

3 Games in Hand already.

Imagine if they reach the EFL Cup semis which would mean 2 more games.

Not sure how they will be able to play all those games.

It is a blend of unfortunate and incompetent that one of the clubs hardest hit by covid rescheduling also has the one weather-related postponement.

About to be 4 games in hand by Sunday.

Fab, VVD and Jones can’t play because of COVID. Spurs: Oh we fine now.

Be surprised if we don’t report another one, be quite odd.

Would we want to play them without Virgil and Fab?

I’d say after 6 league wins in a row a draw would probably be better than postponing the game and then getting problems with fixtures.

No guarantee we would get a draw, if this goes ahead I’d have very little confidence of points to be honest.

Not to mention i expect more cases to crop up. It had to be two of our best players didn’t it, I understand Klopp’s points on postponing wholesale but U23s playing competitive league games is a bit crap for the intergrity of the league.

I think if we have no further cases we should play but I don’t think I’d bother if we had about two first teamers starting.

Virgil and Fabinho are integral players in the spine of the team. For large parts of the 2nd half last night, we weren’t controlling the game. Passing was loose and reckless on occasions and there was a lot of space in midfield. I think a better team than Newcastle, would’ve capitalised on it. I’d much rather face Spurs with those two playing.

Same but I doubt without more cases we will be able to postpone, what I don’t want to see is a team of mostly youth players playing.

They are Spursy.

Don’t care if they are well rested and we not and they have a full squad and we have Fab and Virgil out.

We’ve won the last 7 games against them. 4 of them away.

Last win against them was also without Virgil and Fab.

Can not see us get beaten by them.

Like I said - I’ll take a draw without injuries but we are favorite to beat them.
