Thomas Bach is fluent in butchering so many languages.

It was Rafa Nadal who was the mystery man jumping on the rooftops.

Zizou has still got it.

Let the games

BEGIN!!!

That OpeningCeremony was everything, absolutely wonderful! Mad, bold, chic, dynamic and eventually quite moving. I don’t think there’s ever been a ceremony quite like it.

Yes, bombastic and bonkers af. Can’t even imagine how complicated the organisation of that must have been, let alone how much that must have cost.

Seen clips of it.

I think that’s great, it’s supposed to be a show. I think hats off to them, people who think it’s boring think most modern buildings are stunning, ie: all the same

Watching the opening ceremony now, think its great. The usual walk through the stadium and a bunch of dancers was tired and old. Especially after London pretty much smashed everything you could possibly do in that setting in 2012.

This is fun and different. Boring was the Beijing opening ceremony

I think it’s quite ingenious to take in a major part of the city that is open to the public and base it mostly on that.

It’s what it really should be.

No idea about the ceremony, but reading @Maria 's commentary was very entertaining :+1:t3:

Anyone who can dance on the catwalk in the pouring rain in 4 inch heels gets my vote of " it was a success".
The other best bits were,
seeing France paying tribute to the women who contributed so much to France, the Algerian national team throwing roses in the Seine in memory of the Algerians who were shot and pushed in the Seine in 1961 by the French Police, Gianni Infantino getting absolutely soaked and looking ridiculous in a poncho and looking at the suave Tony Estanguet :sunglasses: whilst addressing the audience, there is something about the French accent
