And the titles have to be removed off of them but the fans and the club can’t even boast about having those titles and those winning moments now. It’s all empty anyway
Any scale back from the appeal and city will do as they did after UEFA and CAS, claim it as proving their innocence.
Except that the only way they could do that for UEFA and CAS was that they got off on a technicality. There’s no way that they can do the same here.
We can but hope😔
There is no hope needed.
It is a totally different process to the UEFA charges with different appeals process. CAS is not an option, they can only appeal the application of law and the interpretation both of which the Premier League will have ensured are water tight after the way they fucked around with UEFA to delay their charges
My prediction is that the appeal panel is unlikely to give much of a view on the veracity of City’s claims. I’m expecting them to endorse the findings of the tribunal on the basis that they’re determinations that they were entitled to come to, having thoroughly examined all the evidence and heard from witnesses in person.
They may say, much like the tribunal have framed their decisions, “if they’re wrong about that, they agree with the decisions reached by the tribunal in any event”
does it though?
i really think this is well overstated… no club, not even us or UTD are bigger than the PL…
the sun will still come up in the morning and the PL will still keep playing to massive global audience, Man City or no Man City, it really is that simple.
Really hope they get absolutely destroyed.
Hate cheating in sports. A victory by cheating is no victory.
Should have to financially compensate the other sides too…
Human morality compared with a private companies rules and procedures?
Declaring someone a murderer requires a burden of proof that is nowhere near comparable to this matter. Even then the judicial system gets it wrong. Which is why we don’t have capital punishment. I’d have far more confidence in a murder conviction still i’d be wary. The case of Derek Bentley is a harrowing one.
I’m not counting our chickens till theirs come home to roost
They’re guilty as hell though😁
I say sod the financial side for the clubs. Money is what is wrong with football. IF there is any financial recompense, then donate it to sport relief/comic relief//children in need. Lets see if the people in power really care about the image of the beautiful game.
I’m not sure that I agree with that. Having perennial and recognized cheaters around who continue to take all the trophies and continue to distort the transfer market with their inflated fees devalues the PL product. That’s what they have done, and surely, it didn’t stop in 2018, and won’t stop if they are allowed to stay.
In their current incarnation, with these owners, they are in no way, shape or form an enrichment for the PL, or a good advertisement for the league. They are a freaking stain on it. Remove them, and you give a decent club like Swansea, West Ham, Middlesbrough or Wolves a chance to take their place.
I’ve been very cynical about the chances that they’ll get the punishment they deserve, but seriously, they are anything but a good product for the PL if these owners are allowed to stay and to continue distilling their poison around.
Yes, it does.
They’ve been the dominant force for 15 odd years and the PL has leaned into that.
It’s one thing for a big club to slowly decline and fade away but that’s completely different to a sudden and immediate departure of such a big player for a decade and a half.
And that’s not just me saying that, it’s in the stuff that is leaking out from within those PL members.
There are a generation of supporters across the world that are Man City fans, due to their ‘success’ . That is a massive affect, if those people fall away from football and bring up their children to have a similar viewpoint on english football/premier league… thats going to harm the league. There are other nations that will be watching this and siding with the UAE and they might stop bidding for tv rights and selling the product in their countries.
The integrity of any competition is more important than any individual participants.
of course. It comes down to how much compromise can one find before it adversely affects the competitions integrity. I assume that is a viewpoint taken by people in power everyday. Doesn’t mean i agree! it is probably the reality?
Your heart may be in the right place, but this is misguided and downright naive. We didn’t need an independent panel to confirm what we’ve been witnessing for years. Every football fan has seen City spend unprecedented, and more importantly unjustifiable, amounts of money for close to 20 years in clear defiance of regulations against it. City’s guilt was never in doubt.
And I don’t appreciate you drawing parallels between how the media treated Liverpool fans in the aftermath of Hillsborough and what they’ve been reporting on City’s case.
i never made a comparison between hillsborough and this case. You only need to look at the general media reporting of Paris, Social media reporting of that too.

Please stop this. Ridiculous take.
Football is much bigger than Man City. The PL is much bigger than Man City.
They’re not able to sell out their stadium. Most of their ‘Fans’ worldwide are not even paying to watch them.
