The thread for those Vile Cheats Manchester City. Who cheated

That’s my understanding. The appeal can only focus on whether the findings of the independent panel are correct based on the evidence they heard. City can’t just pull new evidence out of their arses at this stage.

I laughed at your post due to the titanic reference. Okay so you have hit upon something here, I should clarify that my initial thoughts were a clean not guilty verdict for the well being of everyone, you me and irene, but that could never happen now, not even if legally it was deemed to be so,

Imagine you were a youth player and you got a chance in the first team, you played against city and you got sent off after also scoring an own goal. You never played again and you suffered mentally because of that for years and still to do this day. Or you used to watch game with person X and your side played city in a semi final you lost, that is the last game you ever watched together. The process of releasing information in drips, imo, just makes things worse for people.

EDIT. I will try to stick to lighter , less emotive , threads. I am trying answer posts honestly but I am really struggling to recall what i have stated in the pervious post. I don’t wish to annoy everyone with what can appear as rambling.

You are fine.

You are not the only one who sometimes goes off on a tangent. I do it a lot and can sometimes write a large wall of text on some minor digression.

You have insulted no one. If someone here gets agry because of your feelings (i.e. that you personally don’t want to see draconic punishments), then that is irrelevant and something they must deal with themselves. Your opinion may be a bit unpopular, but it is not, or shouldn’t be, truly provocative.

You just feel differently. That is fine. People will argue with you, question your logic, but that is fine surely.

Our club survived Heysel, Hillsborough, Diogos death and all those decades being cheated on.

If their club can’t survive being punished after cheating it would be the biggest proof of them being a plastic club.

Wouldn’t feel sorry at all for them.

From my understanding, they are also challenging certain facts about the accepted evidence that is used to nail man city especially the money from the airways/ the government itself. They are also challenging the procedural fairness as well.

To me, it is amusing as fuck for the procedural fairness point where the IC spent so many months poring through the submitted evidence and testimonies just to get to the verdict.

For the statement of fact for the airways/UAE government money flow, there lies contradiction where the airways categorically stated as an example to the US government that the funding for football club came from the airways itself, a private company whereas now, they are claiming the evidence to the IC that they submitted showed that the money came directly from the government via the airways. It is like making a mockery of the entire IC’s intelligence and it is not hard to see why the IC threw out that argument from ADUG.

This is just so infuriating!

I can see why people feel this way too, I just can’t wish that on fans who were there long before these owners.

I don’t really share your opinion at all, as I think it is too important to go after that club in a very big way, but I truly appreciate your empathy towards longtime fans (aka normal people).

The problem with that is they gave the opposite story to the investigation that Ettihad Airways gave to a US investigation into State owned airlines back in 2015.

So the question is, did City lie to the Premier League investigation or did Ettihad lie to the US Government?

Findings of fact, and particularly how the tribunal viewed oral and written evidence, would only be reversed if their findings were perverse and ones that no reasonable tribunal could (not would!) come to.

The chances of that happening are miniscule. I’d like to say zero but I’ve seen absurd decisions in my time.

City fans acting reasonably? Few and far between, but here is one…

I could probably show some grace towards the City fans if those fans showed a little bit of contrition.

Since they haven’t…Fuck them.

I do wonder if the City fans that you see online are almost all the glory hunting wankers? The takeover was 2008, so they pretty much span the social media age.

I have a friend who is a long term City fan (going back to the 1970s) and he commented a while back that he had seen both unpleasant gloating from online City fans and vitriol aimed back at long term City fans.

TBH, I haven’t seen him mention football at all for a while. I did get the impression that he regarded a lot of City fans as poor winners: they don’t celebrate winning anything themselves, only happy at United, Liverpool etc not winning.

Thank you. The understanding, kind and thoughtful approach, means a great deal. You provided clarity. Brought a tear to my eye. Some might not understand but i felt lost in a sea of fog.

My brain needed that post it seems. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I dunno, a 50 year old who is a sort of friend on Facebook seems the gloating type. Maybe its the old adage that all teams have knob head fans and those with success gain a few more during successful eras.

I suspect that the non-gloating types are rather quiet at the moment.
