The thread for those Vile Cheats Manchester City. Who cheated

I couldn’t care less. Their fanbase is a rabid, toxic mob. They have been insufferable, revelling in cheating, belittling opponents, threatening anyone in their way, disrespecting the game itself. I have no more sympathy for City than I’d have for some white-collar criminal who made themselves rich by defrauding everyone they knew. They deserve everything that’s coming and then some.

If they folded, I’d say good riddance.

That’s a slightly different issue. If the league was deciding the punishment it needs that sort of super majority, but the punishment for this case is coming from the independent panel and the clubs dont get a say over that.

Skysports, who have been very pro city in their reporting of everything, now conceding the expectation of clubs wanting City out the league

The only way they clear their name is if they somehow manage to buy the majority of the new panel members who are judging. Which again reeks of corruption.

Clearing their name will never be tolerated by me, and certainly the masses out there. Hope they get all the multi year punishment that they deserve.

But don’t recall us singing about it

They’re gonna try that , aren’t they ?

That’s a distinctive shift.

How does one prove the legal eagle is an arsenal fan? That he may have spent all his years studying getting familiar with a library?

ooh , no no no …

Unfortunately, various news sources like Sky Sports are reporting that you need 15 clubs out of the 20 clubs in the PL to vote Yes to expelling Man City from the league which is a huge huge ask from teams who will actually have interest from Man City spending big bucks on buying their players.

The real rivals to Man City are Arsenal, Liverpool, Man United. You can bet your last dollar that these 3 will highly vote Yes.

How about the contenders to UCL places? Brighton, Bournemouth,Chelsea and maybe Brentford and Aston Villa? Their decision will be up in the air as they do want a CL place opened to them but Man City has proven to be big money buyers from their clubs. So it is very iffy on how they will vote.

How about NUFC? They played by the rules and their UAE neighbour didn’t. Will they feel aggrieved? Probably yeah.

The relegation battlers will be easier to convince. If the PL wants to keep 20 teams for next season but wants Man City to get expelled at the end of this season by ensuring they do not get any European position finish this season through a points deduction scheme, they can agree to turn the number of relegation spots from 3 to 2 for this season. That will greatly incentivise the likes of Coventry, Fulham and the hopeless Spurs to vote yes.

In the scenario where all of the above-mentioned teams grow a spine, at best, you will only have 12 confirmed Yes votes just purely on the alignment of benefits.

The most difficult part is how do you convince the likes of the safe mid-table teams like Everton, Hull, Ipwich town, NFO, Sunderland and Crystal palace to vote Yes while the whole league takes a temporary dip to the tv money?

Murray Rosen has now been named as the head of the Independent panel and his personal website had listed him as an Arsenal fan. I think you can connect some dots between that and some the insinuations made in some of City’s official comments on the matter.

Of course, Lord Pannick, their self selected lead of their defense team is an Arsenal fan as well

Yes, Man City would know the identities of the panel itself but I hope the chosen panel would be of the highest ethics to not get bought over by brown envelopes. After all, once this whole saga concludes, the identities of the panel in the IC and the Appeal board will probably be known publicly.

Yeah , I was listening to the Athletic podcast this morning and they talked about it.

Their upshot , like most others , is City are fucked and just how much damage , and for how long , are they going to be allowed to wreak , before everyone says ; Enough is enough , go play your football somewhere else.

Not sure why I’m putting this here :face_with_peeking_eye: but feels like one or two names are missing at the weekend.

forest and chelsea are owed money city for anderson and enzo fernandez? do you think that would affect the vote? I think points deduction for relegation is more likely in that senario and i assume that would mean parachute payments? ugh

off into administration they go with anyone whose intitled to see them in court for a few quid off you go as well. it very well could be the end of them as an entity and a start up club ala fc wimbledon.

everyone should take there pound of flesh from them and the PL should make an example of them cause if they dont and the lip starts to quiver then the PL itself will end up dead in the water and this lovely idea of an English Super League will be spoken about and just like that it will be like watching the premier league starting all over again with new channels and subscriptions and amazon prime and netflix all jumping in and soon the PL will be long forgotten about just like old league 1 was and the odd time someone will mention ‘oh how are the city of manchester’ doing and the answer wil be… Who Fcuking Cares.

Much worst imo.
I tend to avoid such threads however due to no football being played I have ventured out of my confort zone.

Funnily enough, I applied to be on the list of lawyers the PL could select from for these types of proceedings, even made it to a shortlist.

I am now picturing how I would have approached this if I had been on this one and in my head it goes something like this…
