Yeah, he’s been saying this since the day the verdict was announced. His analysis is typically solid so its a take that should carry weight. More so though, the PL’s reported figures show that far from using their ill begoten gains to go establish legitimate commercial success, their cheating accelerated. The idea that at the highest extent of their cheating they suddenly pushed the “stop cheating” button in 2019 and their legitimate income jumped from that of an EFL club to overnight replace all the illegal income is farcical. There is no other reasonable interpretation than their cheating continued well into the era that lots of people are trying to claim as untainted.

I think you said it or I read somewhere that the only reason they didn’t include further years in the investigation is simply because there was too much to go through in this first chunk.

Nothing to do with whether they went legit or not.

Which they most definitely did not.

I am trying to understand something. We have the emirates Fa cup, Arsenal sponsored by Emirates, Emirates is owned by UAE govt, were chelsea once sponsored by emirates? or am i misremembering? If city owners/uae govt are one and the same. ona basic conflict of interest point, once everything else to do with city is dealt with, should some searching questions be asked?

There is no CoI for a sponsor having commercial relationships with multiple clubs

But more to the point Emirites are a Dubai based company and arent involved with City in any way. Etihad (hence the stadium name) is the Abu Dhabi equivalent

So Dubai and Abu Dhabi basically different kingdoms if you will. They called themselves the United Arab Emirates but it’s a loose Federation of pretty much self governing city states.. emirates the airlines is from Dubai

But if they are all intertwined and own a club in the same league? As in perhaps same people have a hand in negotiating all the deals.

so not all funded by the same government? so not the same pot of money then.

Definitely not. Dubai fashion themselves a long time ago to be a very western city with all modern conveniences plus a lot of flashy buildings. They actually don’t have nearly as much money as Abu Dhabi does. Abu Dhabi actually have real oil wealth.

That ÂŁ1.4bn is just since 2018/19, so total estimate is well over ÂŁ2bn.

This bit…

“I said to them: ‘If you lie to me, the day after I am not here. I will be out and I will not be your friend any more. I put my faith in you because I believe you 100% from day one and I defend the club because of that.’”

So…when the appeals fail, will he come out and confirm he’d been lied to? Arguably that’s already happened.

Or this

“Just in case we are not innocent we will accept what the judge in the Premier League decides, but what happens if in the same situation that Uefa happened we are innocent - what happens to restore or pay back our damage?”

UEFA didnt find City innocent Pep, what happened was your paymasters basically ensured that CAS had to drop charges because of time barring - but you keep telling yourself that.

Ultimately, he’s shameless, and disgraceful behaviour is never too far from him, summed up by this;

“In the final line, Guardiola again insisted he would give a media conference once the verdict was given - if journalists could find him.”

he doubled down…cunt.

What the managers are saying about the Man City verdict

published at 15:47 BST

It comes as no surprise that all five of the Premier League managers speaking today were asked about Man City being found guilty. They’ve all kept very tight-lipped about their personal opinions but weren’t shy talking about it.

  • Coventry manager Frank Lampard: “What can you say when an appeal is going on? I’m not inside the story. They are a huge football club now, a huge squad of quality players, so we will see. I’m outside the loop. It’s not my role to talk about a punishment or how much.”
  • Leeds boss Daniel Farke: “It makes no sense if right now everyone wants to have an opinion about this topic. There are more qualified people to talk about this. It’s nothing to do with me, I was not involved in the title race during those years. This is not my topic. Football is my topic.”
  • Bournemouth manager Marco Rose: “I trust in the guys who are involved in these kinds of things and situations and then we will see what happens. I’m a football coach not a politician and I love to be a football coach and it should stay like this.”
  • Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle: “It is not in my job description to judge on that. The authorities are taking care of it and there is a clear process now which will be followed and speaking on behalf of the whole club, it is the right approach to focus on what we we can do better and what we can influence on the pitch.”
