Brilliant.
Watching Ozark and Fargo. Both are good. But both are strenuously complicated and long-winded.
Good. There’s more than enough vacuous drivel on television as it is.
Ozark is absolutely brilliant, by the way. One of my favourite programmes.
Too long, too complicated, there’s déjà vu/twist in every episode
It’s also one of the best acted shows on tv.
The first series of Mr Mercedes is absolutely brilliant - second series goes a bit off course if you ask me. Brendan Gleason is just awesome in it. Well worth a look.
I got bored with ozark after about 8 episodes.
Started watch Sopranos again.
Wife watched The Flight Attendant so I watched it. I thought the main character was played very well but was really annoying also everything she wanted she found or solved. You have to suspend total belief in reality to enjoy it. Started off really well then got silly.
@Magnus Have you watched the Occupied on Netflix?
Is it about our physios?
No, it’s about Russia controlling Norway
I thought it was about the EU being weak, feeble and greedy.
Oh! and big bullies!
Yes, it is pretty good. Some what realistic compared to similar shows, particularly from Hollywood, but not entirely of course. It is a pretty good drama.
The narrative is unsettling.
I’m a fan of the star wars animated series starting from the clone wars. The new one “The bad batch” seems pretty good. Like how they plan to link this up to the Mandalorian and the other related series as well.
yeah i like the clone wars
if you can bypass the childish moments offered to a certain target audience (nothing wrong with that either) theres some really cool themes and undercurrents.
really kicks off around end of season two
highlights for me among many;
when the clone troopers realise they are just collateral by that general and cant decide whether to obey as per what they are bred for is the correct thing to do
fives uncovering order 66 and Rex almost getting it
Ashoka Tano in general, but in particular the last four or so episodes, that whole order 66 and Ashoka Tano becoming a true Jedi, adhering to the Jedi code better than the Jedi council is as good as anything in the Star wars universe for me. especially as here true adherance coincides with Anakins switch to becoming a sith lord.
the first of the bad batch looked fine to me, especially the nod to Kanen (spelling?), looking forward to the rest of it.
She’s the one who meets baby yoda in the Maldalorian? I think there is a spin off on her being developed.
From Wikipedia:
Ahsoka
Main article: List of Star Wars television series § Ahsoka
In December 2020, Lucasfilm announced Ahsoka would be getting her own limited series on Disney+, titled Ahsoka. Developed by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni,[43] it exists alongside The Mandalorian and Rangers of the New Republic through interconnected stories culminating in a “climactic story event”.[43][44] Dawson reprises her role as Ahsoka Tano.[44]

Ahsoka got given time as a character to build. As opposed to Rey suddenly being able to destroy palaptine without so much as breaking a sweat. Hope the lessons are taken going forth for Disney + Lucas Arts and they focus more on the series (both Animated & Live action). Even Anakin as a character is better fleshed out in the clone wars rather than in the prequels. Pity that the clone wars has had to work with the prequel movies being the turds that they are

Yeah , Star wars Rebels wasn’t a bad series as well. I could have done with a lot less Ezra Bridger but it was a pretty good attempt at a worthy followup to clone wars imo.
yeah,
shes probably the most interesting character in the star wars universe for me.
helps ive got an eleven year old daughter who loves the character, but even still.
in the original clone wars movie shes everything a jedi(padawan) should not be, trained by everything a Jedi master should not be (anakin) , i couldnt stand her, and then overtime i realised what was happening…theres plenty of character building, particularily when you realise what is happening on Mortis…
by the time she leaves the Jedi’s shes more Jedi than mace Wiindu.
really worth watching.
really looking forward to the live action series
as opposed to Rey who, ironically, is more of a cartoon character than the actual cartoon character.
star wars rebels was pretty cool too…for two cartoons aimed at a younger target audience they put the final trilogy to absolute shame.
