The TV Thread redux

the show is so good it transcends generic labling…

Finished Penguin. It was alright. Farrell is great, but it became kind of frustrating that his character was just in an near endless cycle of back stab → get caught → switch sides and/or escape → back stab → and on we go. I also have kind of an aversion to Milioti who always seems to be over acting.

Anyway, Silo S2 is back tonight!

This is pretty much why I eventually gave up watching Gotham lol

Oh that guy who plays the young com Gordon is hysterically bad

Yeah, not great, I really liked the actor who played the Penguin in that, though.

He was ok in Southlands.

Did the role require him to look like he was tasting farts in every scene? That’s his speciality

Pretty much!. I think he was the rookie (or post rookie) cop with a chip on his shoulder. It’s a fantastic cop show, highly recommend a watch. Only ran for 2 or 3 seasons.

I don’t have Netflix

Are any of the Marvel/DC shows actually good? And don’t mean just good for a comicbook show.

Completely avoided the tv genre but accidently watched Legion without a clue it was a superhero show until it became obvious. Enjoyed it but don’t think I would have if I knew what it was from the get go.

Nothing can beat this

X men 97 is pretty good. Especially if you’ve followed X-Men the animated series earlier.

Oh, the animated shows are fine. I meant the live-action stuff.

The Netflix daredevil shows were good. As were the punisher / Jessica Jones ones.

Apart from that nah.

Peacemaker with John Cena. It’s technically part of the DC Suicide Squad universe, but the show is so far removed in from anything else that has come before, both in terms of quality and story (you dont have to watched anything else to get it) that it may as well just be viewed as a standalone show.

Season 2 is coming out in the summer, around the time of the first film release from the Gunn led DC reboot. Fingers crossed it doesn’t get sucked into that new Gunnverse

The only others ones I’ve seen that I enjoyed and would recommend are technically in the genre, but different enough that its not what most people mean when thinking of the category - Watchmen, Sandman, Umbrella Academy, the Boyz

Nice list, would add Invincible.

Don’t know much about Sandman, might check it out.
