This is the sort of dialogue that doesnt work when you only see it written down
âNow I have another Grandma, and sheâs the principal of my school. Her husband, whoâs fucking my mom, is looking for his son, whoâs my father! A few days ago I kissed my Aunt!
HBO recently released a Polish Spy show called Eastern Gate that is really good.
There is a section of the Poland-Lithuania border that Russia has had eyes on reclaiming since the fall of the soviet union. Doing that would connect Russia to Belarus and choke off the Baltics from the rest of NATO. The show is about Polish intelligence sending a spy into their embassy in Belarus to try to find a mole they think is working with Russia on a plan to take back this piece of land. Itâs only 6 episodes so it flies.
Watched the first two episodes of the new season of Only Murders in the Building this evening, risking the wrath again of my wife discovering only the first three episodes are available so far .
Big night for the Studio, The Pitt, and Adolescene, 3 shows I big time lauded on here. All 3 are not just incredibly well done - writing, acting, direction - but they are all genuinely entertaining and enthralling, something that prestige tv sometimes forgets to deliver.
If there are any of these 3 you havent seen go and make it a priority to catch up.
To continue this theme, I finished S3 of foundation last night. It has devolved into unwatchable nonsense. Such a shame, but assuming there is a S4 I am not sure Iâll be watching it
Been a while since I watched a bing-worthy show. Tried Severence, 2 episodes into the 2nd season currently. With the premise, I didnât see how they could stretch it over one season but 2nd one has kept me interested.
Eyeing Son of the Century next. Getting some pretty good reviews. Should be worth a watch.
Severance is special. It depressed the hell out of me for long stretches (and I donât think it will get better in that aspect) but the show is just special.
absolute absurd brain rot and childish cartoon, with slapstick violence, and ren and stimpy levels of absurd humour, zero direction to it at all and just an all round weirdo showâŚ
untilâŚ
you realise its not, its actually a horrifically deep comment on modern society, and very cleverly done, with alot still to come
if your looking for signs in intelligence and the ability to see through the haze, that our modern kids today arent just drones of social media, look no further than this show, the immediately understand whats going on and being spoken aboutâŚ
im not sure if i should give you a spoiler so you can watch it from minute 1 with an idea, or let you slowly figure it out ( im leaning towards spoiler becuase its not really easy to get it from minute 1 with all of the slapstick stuff going on)
edit ; i think first four are on netflix but everything is on you tube
Finished the Amazon show âCountdownâ. Not sure if they will get a second season. Amazon said it is currently 7th best show in the UK, the casting is fine but the writing and/or direction is very poor. Some of the dialogue set up is terrible. Some things seem wrong (but may not be) such as them conducting raids without wearing body armour. The structure of the series is baffling, like it wasnât written to fit the episodes it has.
