Hijack season 1: Fucking stupid but enjoyable in an Idris Elba sort of way
Hijack season 2: Fucking stupid and it feels Elba should be making decisions about his career

Anyway, Monarch and Anna Sawai come back next week

He’s done ok since the Wire, but hasn’t really reached his potential quality wise.

Yet another show i’ve been banned from watching, by she whom must be obeyed, until all episodes are available :see_no_evil_monkey:

I really like Idris Elba, but he does seem to make an awful lot of films that I would loosely describe as ā€œIdris Elba filmsā€. He’s really cool but he just plays the same character. It’s a bit like Liam Neeson, who seems to have spent the last 20 years making ā€œLiam Neeson filmsā€.

Didn’t Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Michael Caine start that trend? :joy:

Idris Elba bored me soon much it annoys me so I can not fall asleep. Do I no longer watch the same character playing a different person anymore. Was ok for the 1st series I watched, now it’s just tedious. I mean if someone shat in his cornflakes he’d just grin .

Hope that you can handle all that violence!
Enjoy the music by Hiroyuki Sawano too (May have spoiler warning in the YT video).

I’d add Jamie Foxx, Matthew McConaughey, and Jim Carey on the versatile list

Denzel Washington probably goes on the ā€œI play myselfā€ list. Even though he plays himself really well.

Dunno about Walken - always plays some sort of crazy…

Maybe Susan Sarandon?

Wrong thread, but I always thought Ethan Hawke had great range. To bring it back home to TV, it is incredible to see the heart throb from the Midnight film series and Reality Bites, could be such a convincing fuck up as he played recently in The Lowdown (highly highly recommended)
