A big part of me wishes Bill Lawrence put his time into something new, but there is a new season of Ted Lasso and Bad Monkey coming, and he is involved in the new HBO show with Steve Carrell (looks awful, but that’s not the point) so its not like its waylaid him too much
Currently watching Chernobyl. It’s been on my must watch list for ages. Finally took a punt on it.
If memory serves me right there’s one or two slight departures or deviations from the book (Midnight in Chernobyl) but don’t hold me to that and it doesn’t detract from it. Great watching
I put off the final season of Peaky Blinders so I could do it back to back with the movie. That’s out now so I’ve gone back to the prior season so I can remember wtf is happening.
I’m four episodes in of a comedy drama called SHRINKING.
Starring Jason Segal and Harrison Ford amongst others…
Find it a refreshing change to other stuff that is out there, of a character that draws you in. The laugh out loud moments are obviously a bonus…
Not yet. Same reason as above - wife won’t let me until the show finishes dropping as we tend to watch shows when we can fit them in - and that often leads to binge watching shows we really enjoy (or I suspect so she can skip ahead to the last episode when I’m not around if the episodes are particularly tense).
It wouldn’t surprise me if season two is not as good as the first. First season was probably a little better than people were expecting, and I’m not sure how it can really catch that initial excitement or suspense we had before we saw the story play out.
I was recently gifted an Apple TV account by my best man and I’m yet to delve deeper into its content but it seems that there are some amazing shows there. When I get the time, I will hopefully continue with Foundation (yes, @Limiescouse, Foundation), watch Pluribus and The Studio. Any further recommendations, folks?
Ther were episodes of the studio had left me struggling to breathe they were so funny. The koolaid movie casting one was incredible.
Other not mentioned that are worth your time are For all mankind, Ted lasso, pachinko, mythic quest, silo, bad sisters, severance, and after party. It wasn’t well received but I like presumed innocent as well
I posted a while back that I thought the picture quality on HBOMax could be poor. I am planning to watch 2010: The Year We Make Contact (the sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey) this evening after the football.
I decided to watch 2001 again this afternoon, which they have in 4K). My god, it looks magnificent! I don’t know if this is a new print, but it looks way better than my DVD copy. I think the only thing that gives it away as a 1968 film is a relatively young Leonard Rossiter; he would have been 100 this year.
2001 is often mentioned as one of those movies that must be experienced in 4k. It’s in my 4k bucket list along with Aliens, Lawrence of Arabia, Blade Runner, and a few more modern titles like Fury Road and the Dune movies.
