Trigger Point, seen the first 2 episodes so far and no idea what the hypes about. McClure telling people to stay calm and keep quiet is as cringe as it gets.
What is the sequence/chronology of the Star Trek series? I have finished the Enterprise which should be the first one but it was made decades after the one I saw as kid.
Ignoring the Discovery and Picard shite, it goes Enterprise, Original Series, Next Generation, DS9, Voyager iirc
Binge watched Reacher on Amazon this weekend. Largely enjoyed it. Not sure if what I disliked about the story was from poor scripting or the source material as Iāve not read any of the books.
Reacher was a lot bigger this time around than Tom Cruise eh
Not much interest in Reacher, but that John Cena show finally started (HBO feel like theyve been marketing it for ages) and is getting good reviews. Might give that a bash at some point soon.
I started the new season of Ozark and realized I remembered absolutely nothing about the previous season so think I need rewatch that whole thing before I give this a bash
10 to 15 years ago, I did a lot of long distance driving for work. I listened to 11 or 12 of the Reacher books on tape to pass the time. I listened to the one this season is based on, but have forgotten the fine details. They are very entertaining books. I think they played around a bit making the TV show but generally have the broad strokes down (way better than the tom cruise movies, what terrible casting for a 6ā5 character).
Reacher will take the bus or walk with a toothbrush and cash in his pocket, with nothing else. When his clothes get dirty, he buys new ones for cheap using army pension. He always stumbles into a boss hogg type, a few bumbling local PD that donāt trust the drifter and are usually on the boss hogg payroll (they always gulp and say oh shit when they can track down and read his military history, without fail) and one or two actual competent types, who he helps to unravel the boss hogg mystery with his unique skill set before moving on.
I enjoyed the show, there is a lot of source material to draw from, so I assume theyāll make plenty of seasons. Itās not ground breaking television but itās entertaining. One of the shows I can watch with wifey which is nice.
@jgw_geneseo Itās like the Littlest Hobo with fist fights
Thereās a voice that keeps on calling me
Down the road is where Iāll always be
Every stop I make, Iāll make a new friend
Canāt stay for long, just turn around and Iām gone again.
Anyone watching The Brits? Apart from Adele, Ed Sheeran and Dua Lipa, i havenāt heard of most of these artists
Didnt watch it but a quick google says Dave, Little Simz, Joy Crooks, and Lola Young were there. Joy crookes is very soulful, has a beautiful voice and i fully recommend checking out some of her stuff. Lola young has a lovely voice too, much newer artist. Little Simz and Dave are grime artists, very talented lyricists.
Also saw that Doja Cat was nominated, Say So is a very good song, strong Disco/funk influence to it.

Thanks for the update Sixpence. .
I just about managed to catch the last 30 minutes of Life Stories with John Barnes. He looks evergreen. Still the same.
LOVED this. Wasnāt entirely thrilled with the ending but absolutely loved the series. No word if there will be season 2 Iām told.
Also, The Righteous Gemstones is hilarious!
@Limiescouse We just finished Dopesick. Unbelievably well done and the events retold. Iām left speechless. I had no idea. And to think the Purdue Pharma criminals tried to infiltrate Germany.
Ending pisses me right off to be honest.
Ending was sculpted to allow for a second seasonā¦
A lot of boxsets seem to adopt the same theme thoughā¦ they wait for critics review, public feedback and opinion to see if it warrants financing further programmesā¦
Unfortunately, after watching something for 10hrs or so, it leaves us with endings fitting in with the narrative for further seasons, instead of the ending fitting in with the story to handā¦
Well, thatās one important question answered towards the bottom - their approach to the challenge posed by the time scale of the second age is to compress it. I really donāt like that. Maybe that could work if they think they are ending their story at the forging of the rings but to cover all the major elements of the age in the span of human life seems unsatisfying.
Any suggestions for some fantasy movie/series?
