Started Daredevil. You have to park the central premise in the “absolute bollocks” box but after that, it’s great fun.
Just saw in the trades that Netflix isn’t renewing Archive 81. Evidently didn’t meet the necessary streams. Which makes the ending even worse for me now.

Physical (AppleTV+): Outstanding. Absolutely loved every minute of the series. 30 minute episodes make it perfect.
Severance (AppleTV+): heady, thoughtful, eerie, brilliantly written and shot. You have to be invested, it’s not light viewing. Can’t say enough positive about how much we are enjoying this and look forward to new episodes every week.
We loved Taboo. That’s another show we were disappointed to learn it wouldn’t be coming back for another season.
Cool. Had heard good things about Severance so might give it a bash next (and make use of the Apple TV membership I keep forgetting to cancel now Ted Lasso isnt on).
I think you’ll love it @Limiescouse. It’s cast really well and the concept/story is fascinating. The vibe is Black Mirror meets WestWorld but still uniquely its own without copying anything else.
It’s total discomfort. Every minute of every episode is complete discomfort. Ben Stiller directed most of the episodes and he absolutely killed it with the visual aspect.
As long as he’s not in it
Taboo is coming back, last i read about it was they’d virtually finished writing the 2nd season, they just needed to fine tune it,Tom Hardy has said he’s got some really good ideas and crazy ones to add to the show.
The reasons it hasn’t been made yet are timings and busy schedules for both Steven Knight (creator of Peaky Blinders) and Tom Hardy being tied to other shows/films,im sure i read filming will start in 2023.
Taboo is supposed to be atleast 3 seasons,so I’d imagine if the 2nd season is as good as the first, then the 3rd will be made aswell.
Amazing news!
The latest article i read on it.
Any Gogglebox fans here?
I’ve just finished watching The Responder. Was very impressed with it. I felt it was one of those that wasn’t entirely predictable as to how it was going. Also, Martin Freeman’s Scouse was spot on.
I believe they are planning a second series.
There seem to be a few British series on German telly at the moment. I’ll have to check out some of the others.
Just watched the1% club programme…gets the brain working…
Watched the first two episodes tonight, really enjoyed them. Knew nothing about the character before the show. Look forward to the rest of the show.
am about 10-15 mintues into the 2nd and still have no clue.
So far I have really enjoyed most of the films/series that Marvel have put out but this one is leaving me feeling quiet meh!
We’ve watched the first two episodes and quite enjoyed it so far. It’s mainly my son who wanted to see it but my wife is intrigued as she used to work as a psychiatric nurse and they had a patient who had (allegedly) a dissociative identity disorder. She said the series is very stylised as the patient was not really functional but would have violent episodes (usually smashing up their room/possessions) and claim that they had no memory of the event or confabulate about someone else having been present.
Anyway, the show is going down the ordinary Joe with an alter-ego route but it appears to be trying to show the disorder from the suffers perspective except in this he is in possession of some sort of super-strength/super-power. I don’t know much about the comic books that it is based on so I’m not sure whether it is strictly about the super-hero adventure or the man struggling with his breakdown. It does seem quite a weighty territory for Disney+ if it’s the latter.
Watched the second season of Young Wallander. Pretty good, but do they really have to make an entire season based on a single case.
Finished two seasons of Umbrella Academy
I dunno. How interesting can a bunch of students learning about umbrellas be?
Upcoming:
Better Call Saul finale
Ozark finale
