Interesting, I didnt know another one was in the works.
I never got around to watching the second series about the action in the Pacific. I think it just came at the wrong time where I couldnt get my head around watching American war stuff, but might give it a go eventually.
I tried watching the second season because I love the first one so much. I couldnât get into the show, it just didnât feel the same. I only managed to watch one or two episodes in the end.
Ms. Marvel was a fun first episode. Avoiding twitter for the reactions as Iâm sure the fanboys are having a field day with a non-white, muslim, female lead.
2nd series of The Flight Attendant has been bit shit, focuses too much on her personal/private life and her alcoholism and like 0.5% is on what is should be about
I mentioned recently that Iâve done a significant rewatch of Better Call Saul in preparation for the final season and I enjoyed it more second time around. Itâs undeniably good tv, but I found it frequently frustrating first time around how slowly Jimmyâs descent into being Saul was, and how many false dawns there were for it. Every season there was some narrative you think explains his turning point and then it doesnât happen. But I think this mostly an issue of expectationsâŠof wanting the show to be about Saul not Jimmy.
On rewatching, with a better sense of the trajectory of the fall, you can just enjoy the show for what it is, and on that level itâs just really fantastic tv. I now think itâs actually better than Breaking Bad.
Itâs the Star Wars conundrum. The spin off is a prequel. I donât think it is essential to understand it to have watched Breaking Bad, but I think it might negatively impact Breaking Bad if youâve already watched Saul, and to a degree already knowing the characters a bit makes their appearance and back story in Saul a bit more rewarding.
Black Sails is a very good programme. Only four seasons, stunning visually - especially the ships, Toby Stephens gives a brilliant performance, rest of the cast strong mainly. Its a programme that gets better with each season and one that ends well. I recommend it.
Speaking of which, finally made my way through S3 of Barry. Exceptional TV but think it tipped this year from Dark Comedy to straight drama with some comedic relief. With that said, the scene where Barry explains to his girlfriend the things he could do to her former assistant is one of the funniest things Ive seen in years.
