The TV Thread redux

No, the guy playing the elf is fractionally less wooden than 95% of the rest if the cast. The best couple in it are Durin and Desa, great interplay there. I do think people are missing my point here, intentionally. But nothing ever changes.

Genuinely thought I had given an answer/personal opinion to the point you made. Or the point I thought you had made. But ok… :person_shrugging:

The Watcher ( Netflix ).

Watched the first couple, loosely based on a true story about a family that are stalked by the Watcher of a house they have bought.

Not bad so far

Watched the first 3 episodes of Obi-Wan. Not as bad as I was expecting. I’ll have to re-watch the original trilogy to remind myself of where they have not been consistent.

Was agreeing with you mate

Another good episode although not the best. Easy to spoil so won’t. Building very nicely  Or you could say building very poorly

Surely nobody on here would ever possibly disagree with the Guardian? If JBP is always wrong, surely the Guardian is always right? Amazed he liked Galadriel, she’s the worst thing in it. Aside from drag Eminem obviously.

The funny thing about tv… you can choose what you want to watch!

Sometimes, when i dont enjoy a show, i find other things to watch or occupy my time with.

Frozen Planet 2 is wonderful. Keeping up the amazing standards set by its predecessors.

Sets up nicely for season finale. Some of the acting is amazing and the music very well done as always by Ramin.

Kevin Can F**k Himself

I missed it first time around but heard a lot of positive talk when the second/final season was starting recently. It’s weird. It’s two shows in one. The husband is your characteristic sitcom buffoon who is awful but we’re supposed to accept as lovable and so all his scenes are in the style of your typical network sitcom. Really bright colours, obnoxious laugh tracks to things that are in the format of a joke but not remotely funny, the funky theme that plays at the end of every scene. Every other scene is styled like a premium drama.

The sitcom scenes are so obnoxious they’re actually difficult to get through, but the more the bigger plot (her reaching breaking point and deciding he needs to die) the more interesting it becomes.

I really enjoyed it, it’s unlike anything else I’ve seen.

As a Tolkien fan, I found the Rings of Power to be INCREDIBLY disappointing, to put it mildly. It was midlly entertaining watching it, but the absurd decisions by the script writers made me fume a lot and complain loudly to my poor friend while watching, who have had the misfortune to watch all the episodes with grumpy annoyed me.
Given it is supposedly the most expensive series ever, I had actually some expectations. As it turned out, it would have been better had it never have been created.

Ps. Also sick of watching all of those Elvis Presly imitating elves, but that’s a minor gripe compared to the general dissapointment.

Pps. It grinds my balls into a painful squeeze to admit this, but I agree with a hell of a lot @Klopptimist is saying here, though I would maybe focus on different things. Yet he has brought up many good points. Many roles are casted dead wrong and almost unforgivably so. Elendil actor and the dwarves are okay though, I would agree with that. Also, that woman who plays Galadriel is absolutely stunningly beautiful, yet that doesn’t help at all since Galadriel is neither incredibly wise nor incredibly intelligent in this series (hardly the only problem with this horrible version of Galadriel).
