The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Nah, they embed in posts. No clicking required.

Sure. Make it a 45m + sell on clause option to buy. Thereā€™s no way those skint idiots would be able to afford that. Not with them persisting to buy the attacking flavours of the window.

They would have 12months to win him overā€¦ Goes to Pep, he will likely return to Anfield

And he would have the same amount of time to see what a joke that club has become.

At this stage, theyā€™re living off their name and the fact that La Masia continues to produce outstanding (if fragile) youngsters. That canā€™t go on indefinitely.

Whatā€™s going on with Thiago at Barca. I read that he had left his coaching role there already? Him still being there could be a good reason to consider Barca, but outside of that Im still definitely in the fuck them camp.

theres a universe where Baj going to Barca is better that Salzburg, the calibre of youngsters, expectations of a big club to name a few, but if the place is as toxic as people here want to suggest, he finds out during a loan spell, and decides never to agitate for a permenant move

He had some issues with taxes due to which he had to come back to Liverpool to stay this year here.

Good move all round. Except for one less midfield option for us.

No option to buy hopefully points to this being with the aim of getting him games and being part of the squad next season.

I was warning people earlier in the summer to not put too many expectations on Stef for this season, but I would never have guessed it would have ended with him going on loan. On the one hand it appears a show of faith in who we have left to allow him to leave, but I cannot help feeling now that we are one too light in midfield, an area I felt no concern over at the beginning of pre-season.

My thoughts exactly.

I ultimately trust the people involved to make the right decision for Bajā€™s development, but our midfield pool for the deep roles is now Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Jones and Endo, rather than Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Jones and Bajcetic.

I think, considering Slot already seems to have written off Endo, that this makes us weaker.

Glad itā€™s Salzburg rather than Barca though. I trust that all involved saw straight through that shit.

EXCL: Red Bull Salzburg reach agreement with Liverpool to sign Stefan Bajcetic. 19yo midfielder joining #Salzburg on loan, no buy option. #FCBarcelona made approach but could not close. Set to travel to Austria tomorrow. #LFC get loan fee

And then on the other side, it is Dom, Harvey and presumably Mac and Jones for the third spot in midfield. I looks ok from one angle, but not too much has to go wrong to find yourself in a spot.

There is a crisis of confidence over Endo, Mac takes a bad tackle and Jones has a characteristic niggleā€¦all of a sudden weā€™re having to drop Dom back into one of the deeper roles, Harvey slots in and then weā€™re forced to do something dumb like Cody as the next in line.

I agree that the midfield looks one light. We may sign someone at the end of the window, or maybe Morton is the extra man, since his move to Leverkusen didnā€™t work out?

Stef needs the game time to develop into the player we all hope he becomes and not to sit on our bench and not getting on the pitch.
