The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Weird, they don’t show up for me.

We are lighter in the centre of the defence. Between Konate’s injury issues and van Dijk’s age, we are not far away from starting Quansah and Gomez.

That “joke” wasn’t really funny on the first 500 outings.
It’s boring now.

On paper, it’s rather balanced - two players in each role, two left footers on the right. We’ll see if it works in practice because, aside from Salah, the rest of the lads are like the Wizard of Oz bunch - everyone is missing something and that’s holding them back from reaching greatness.

Bit worrying this from Mo. More or less same as Trent. Are they both leaving on a free?? I sincerely hope its just to get better contracts rather than jumping ship on a free.

If he goes , he goes…he would have honoured his contract and there will be little we could have done, thing is would Edwards be looking to give him a pay rise at his age, considering he’s already our highest earner?

I can’t see that happening tbh

Yeah wouldn’t surprise me if all 3 go but think its more likely that VVD and Mo go.
TAAs contract is priority as young and can pre-sign for another club in 4 months.

Not worrying in the slightest - he’ll be 33 next summer. And if he is 100% focused on his performances and not his contract, which he says he will do, it should be a great season

There may still be a contract offer he would except.

Also, it depends on what happens this season, if he starts losing his starting position and/or his physical ability, he may be less inclined to stay.

I think it’s why they are the most two important areas. Both ageing players. VVD has it seems obvious struggled by playing lots of games his form in the Euros was concerning.

I’ve always said I was quite comfortable with seeing out his contract.

You can say these words are concerning or you could just see them for what they are. Bland as nothing.

Trent is probably the one most obvious, however I’m of the assumption that it will be VVD who stays of the 3.

The kind of wages we’d have to give them to make up for what they’d receive as free agents says to me they’re going. Out of the three I’d say van Dijk would be most likely to still be here next season.

Would love for that to happen, but honestly think it won’t involve him having a pay rise from us, still think mo could easily go another 2-3 years for us as his fitness is next level.

But it depends what Mo would want to do…but he’s already earned his legendary status .

I’d actually say Alexander-Arnold, as he doesn’t seem to really want to move that badly, kind of like the previous Salah contract extension. You know it’ll happen sooner or later, but the question is when and for how much?

If a CB had arrived this summer I would probably have said VVD is leaving but they haven’t let’s face it only one of the 3 has a natural replacement currently.

Every question session they do includes a contract question, VVD had it after the game on Sunday they won’t play their hands so say something rather bland like this.

This place does react to any type of sensational click bait

Given that Barcelona are now interested then that seems much more likely.

Yes. Thanks to that extra hype yesterday.
