Not that I had any doubt about this window (well, maybe a little doubt). Just happy to know that Edwards is there with Hughes at Axa as this window closes. They will get shit done!!!

Just saw this article about Van Dijk replacements TKT Opinion- Three central defenders who can replace Van Dijk at Liverpool and they have mentioned Branthwaite. Thoughts on this? 
Branthwaites pace lets him down.
Yeah the whole idea was to get him regular playing time with a first team. Good luck with that at Barca. It would be like at the end of the first Indiana Jones movie. Whatever did happen to that Ark thingy?
Rumor has it Liverpool could be interested in 24 year old French CB Simakan. The RB Leipzeig defender featured in 32 games last season. He also has the versatility to play RB. Feels like he could be a Joe Gomez replacement?

The writer providing statistics without normalizing the values is really useless.
I don’t get the Lukeba hype too. He has fantastic ball skills, but he is more suitable for a hybrid FB/CB role than for a traditional CB.
Barca definitely need some help now Gundogan has left and have been down to bare bones in midfield so far this season. All 3 games so far this season they have been forced to play a 17 year old in CM who has now done his ACL. They have another 20 year old from the academy, but other than him it is only Pedri and Lopez they have without having to go even deeper into their youth team (already 3 deep), or play players out of position until Frenkie and Gavi get back.
The issue is would he have been able to get up to speed quickly to take advantage of the opportunities to play there are now, and what would happen to his opportunities once Frenkie and Gavi return, the latter of whom is expected within about 3 months.

Napoli has finalized the deal for Lukaku. You have to think that now means Osimhen watch is now on. They are heavily in the red for this summer, which certainly looks like something they planned to make up for a big fee for Osimhen. I wouldnt be surprised if someone (chelsea? Arsenal?) gets an unexpectedly good deal out of them before the window closes now.

They can fuck themselves, but it doesn’t change that they are desperately short in the immediate term at CM, and likely will be for another couple of months.

It’s funny. I watch celebrity masterchef and have no idea who personalities or influencers are. Same for journalist. They want to be famous. I remember buying Sunday papers at 1 am in London. Searching for transfer news. Now you have every man and his dog craving links.
