I can see Virg going to one of the other leagues that play slower pace (Italy?) and playing until he is 38. Same with Salah but maybe he ends up in Saudi with crazy paycheck. Trent should be signed now. We are going to need serious investment at CB soon. The other three work because Virgil is so good. Weâll need to spend on another top list guy.

Iâm actually not sure Salah would be comfortable in the Gulf leagues.
Sure he will be the biggest superstar etc etc but I do think he will find it more comfortable for himself and his family to live in Europe/USA etc.
Salahâs pretty liberal (as much as his culture would allow him to be) and I donât think heâs about the money. He wants to play at the highest level for the maximum time. If Liverpool show that they are still competing for the trophies with Slot , he will have impetus to sign a new contract.

The fact that we donât do exit clauses as a rule probably keeps us in a bit of a limbo.
Might be worth it to sign VVD and Mo(and similar senior players on exit clause included deals for 2 years plus an option for another year (with a higher exit clause ofcourse for the first year).
The players are happy because they can always have their agents scouting knowing that they have a choice after every window till their contract is over.
The club knows whether to rely on them for the next season or not depending on their form etc.
And exit clauses for players above 32-33 years of age. Not for those under that age.

The thing with the contract situation, re MO, TAA and Virgil⌠They may actually be in limbo as to whether AS wants them to stayâŚ!
Unless AS has categorically stated to them personally, they will be a part of his plans in the coming seasons, would it not be a bit presumptuous of them to expect a contract is in the offing automatically. This is the perfect opportunity for AS, to cut them loose, if he has no long term use for them.
Edwards, will obviously use what ever influence he has to do what is best for LFC, and in particular, protecting FSG money.
Be interesting to see how it develops though.
