Last season he was used at fullback for all but like 2 games when Virg was suspended, I don’t have an issue with him there. It’s the thought he could quite quickly become 3rd choice if somebody breaths on Ibou that’s concerning.
I mean, I get why we all have ptsd from that season but it really was a perfect storm of 3 season ending injuries in the space of what seemed like a couple weeks in the position we were weakest.
Gomez hasn’t played a lot of CN and doesn’t have a great injury record, but there were a couple years where he was preferred there over Matip (although mostly each just kept the starting job until they got injured) and was very very good.

Nat and Rhys aren’t first-team material, quite obviously, but maybe they aren’t the liabilities most on here appear to think they are.

Rabiot the French player is available on a free but he has 24 hours to find a champions league club willing to take him. I think it is his mother’s fault who manages him she is valueing him a bit high and is getting a bit greedy.

Rabiot? Seems a decent player, but too high maintenance to bring in just to be experienced depth.
And right now I don’t see that he starts for us.

Totally agree, they stood up when they needed to,Nat seems to cop a lot of fairly unjustified stick.He was always good for 110%,don’t recall him going on holidays, or walkabout, whatever you want to call it.

After that midfield performance, I suspect they have been in touch. He is an odd case, and right now by far the best midfielder ManU could bring in before January. He has actually been ok over the past two years (better in 22/23 than last year) but overall Juve just decided he was not worth what they were paying him. Not that different from Chiesa, though obviously with a lot more baggage.

On the face of it , a 2 year deal wouldn’t be a bad idea for United.
But there seems to be a sort of unwritten agreement between all the clubs to not take him. Mostly because of the actions of his mother.

And people in those positions etc do talk to each other.
I think it is a matter of his demands, and being both difficult to negotiate with and a problematic team member. He has reportedly been looking for what he was earning at Juventus and a substantial signing bonus. Just too much of a disconnect between that position and the risk that clubs actually see in him.
He rejected a lower offer from Juve, and it sounds like discussions with Milan went a similar direction.
