The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

I am not very sure of his educational background but I would guess he shouldn’t have any problems up to 10.

Alright, we’re not a selling club. Or, every club is a selling club, except Real Madrid.

You are wrong. Real have to feed their outdated players to United.

Still early days, but regardless of Gravenberch’s recent progress (and if he ends up having a very good season), we might still aim for a target like “Zubimendi”. I don’t expect Endo to be here next season, so…

I think it’s not about Gravenberch so much as Bajcetic and his progress. Why bring in a Zubimendi if we can grow one ourselves?

At this point , we will probably have to accept the fact that Bajcetic might never be the player he promised to be.

There’s still a door open for Bajcetic. But the injury at that point might have just set him back on his development curve.

That is simply true of every single youth product. I’m saying that whether or not we go back after Zubimendi would be more dependent on Bajcetic or perhaps even Morton (unlikely) rather than Gravenberch.

It would do that to anyone. But let’s not get hyperbolic about the end of his career shall we? He’s still only 20.

Don’t think Zubimendi if he comes, means the end of Bacjectic. Zubimendi has the skillsets to play in Macalister role too if Bacjectic comes back from his loan development a better player.

This is what I hope for now. Obviously, I had no clue Slot would deploy Graveberch in a deeper role but I held out hope for Bajčetić. We’ll see how he does, I know he started in CL loss for Salzburg and allegedly did well in terms of stats but I have no clue how he played. Aside from a defensive midfielder, a left back and a centre back, this team might need another centre back, a right back and a right sided forward next summer, so any penny saved is a penny earned…

Chiesa is devastated…

Palacios at Leverkusen is a new one we’re linked to now. Based on this profile - strengths are receiving the ball under pressure and retaining possession - looks like an alternative to Zubimendi

I think we will see lots of stories like this one now

Take the best stats of Gini in his prime and then see which of the young guys gives those stats.

We’ll be looking for someone who can play both in the Mac role as well as the Grav role as the understudy

Oh for sure. It’s just interesting to see who is out there with the same sort of (supposedly rare) profile.

This sounds positive - the big leagues trying to coordinate efforts to get the summer window to close before the league starts

I am aware of him but probably figured he didn’t fit in the Liverpool target age group anymore.

Same age as Zubimendi. Both were hot prospects as younger players then stalled a bit in their progression in their early 20s before belatedly getting linked to the clubs people assumed would be interested in them when they were teenagers

Just that Liverpool generally recruit players below 24.

Palacos would be 26 when he joins us. I do think that should rule him out considering the motto is to sign them earlier even if it means paying more.

But if Zubimendy is under consideration still , so should Pala.

I swear I keep making this mistake of thinking he’s around Szoboszlai’s age at the very oldest…

I’d say 26 and below otherwise in the last 10 years you’re still excluding Chiesa, Endo, Thiago, Shaqiri, Matip, Klavan, Ali, Virg and Gini.
