The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Quite a few “links” today…

Liverpool and Manchester City are interested in Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella, 27, but the Italy midfielder is also on the radar of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. (Fichajes - in Spanish)

Real Madrid are considering a January move for 18-year-old England youth international Josh Acheampong, with Liverpool , Newcastle and Tottenham also interested in the Chelsea right-back. (Independent)

Liverpool are in advanced talks with Sevilla over a deal for French 24-year-old defender Loic Bade. (Todo Fichajes - in Spanish)

The Badé one interests me the most. Good in the air and excellent at tackling, he would really need to work on his passing game:

Sometimes it’s down to which team you play for with that type of thing.

Anyhow it’s an area we need.

So real are interested in an 18 yo english right back? Hmm are they collectors?

Our name pops up a few times among the usual suspects today. Except for one where we are the only club linked - Nico Schlotterbeck. What do our Germany-based forumites know of him?

Manchester City and Liverpool are showing interest in Brighton’s Argentine forward Facundo Buonanotte, 19, who is on loan at Leicester City. (Fichajes - in Spanish), external

Bournemouth will demand “big money” if they are to consider selling Hungary full-back Milos Kerkez, 20, who is interesting Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United. (Football Insider), external

Liverpool have targeted Borussia Dortmund’s Germany defender Nico Schlotterbeck, 24, as a replacement for Virgil van Dijk should the Dutchman leave the club next summer. (Caught Offside), external

Manchester United may re-sign left-back Alvaro Fernandez, 21, who only joined Benfica on a permanent deal in the summer and is being monitored by Liverpool and Real Madrid. (Teamtalk)

Looks good, except for the headers. He’s 6’3”, so should be winning more in the air.

Probably a white boy…can’t jump.

Yes, very white. Has been regarded as the biggest German CB prospect for years, he’s undoubtedly very talented, excellent build up play, but also had a number of high profile games where he fucked up, which has somewhat tainted his reputation a bit. Still relatively young for a CB though.

I like him. Would like to see him in a team that overall defends better than Dortmund. Think he has what it takes to prove himself at the top level.

So long as he doesn’t dress like that on the pitch, he can wear whatever the fuck he wants.

As long as he doesn’t carry a man bag.

Fixed.

If he’s a work in progress, I think we should be on his case.

Ive seen his name mentioned quite a bit. But mistakes can be fixed , technical issues can’t be fixed that easily.

And probably needs to be in the side irrespective of whether VVD leaves or not. Virgil will be 34 by the end of the season. Even if he gets a 2 year contract , we would need to be planning for the future.

I like what I’ve seen of him. Get Szoboz on the case

I assume there will be plenty more links with him considering that Liverpool will likely target a LB in the next year or so and that Hughes was the one who signed him. I like him a lot, I had a few chances to see him prior to his move to Bournemouth as well. he’s only getting better.

2 years ago I posted that the club should go for the French right wing back Leukeba who plays for Leipzig at present. He would be the closest to a Trent replacement and there are rumours mainly from TIA that we are interested in him even though he has extended his contract recently. He is a lot quicker and a better defender than Trent. His release clause will increase to £75M next year.

I haven’t seen enough of Leipzig to know how he has played there, but is primarily identified as a CB. If the rumours of our interest in him resurface now I would imagine it is as a replacement for Gomez and/or Virgil

With Bradley around, do we need a replacement at all?

I remember these forums being convinced that Ramsay was going to be the natural Alexander-Arnold replacement and marginalise Bradley a couple of seasons ago too…

Maybe not be too worried about things that haven’t happened?

Yep, left-footed CB.

Have you seen him play ten times?
