The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

It hasn’t been a great move for him. Betis would be a big step up from Austria, but they have some good players he’d learn things from and its where Adrian is so maybe there is a sense of wanting to send him where they’d be someone to look out for him.

I was wondering why Betis was lingering in my recent memory…

He does like Iron Maiden a a lot. Aren’t they always gloomy ?

What’s so negative about this?!

I don’t think it’s to do with rating him. I just don’t think coming back here into a battle with Endo for ten minutes of pitch time a month is going to help his development. He lost a year, and he needs to be playing again.

Going from Salzburg to Betis, with the season he’s had so far, is a bit weird. Having Adrian there is not a big factor in my opinion.

Had a look what’s happening at Betis, I see that William Carvalho has a long term injury until May and Marc Roca is out (don’t know for how long) as well so that might be a big reason.

Maybe they have other players for those deeper positions, so we’ll see how much he plays and how well. Then look at him next summer and decide again what’s best for all.

Will have 2 years left on his deal, like a few others.

It’s a couple of young players, neither of whom have a great pedigree that should scare him.

Probably makes more sense now Ljinders has gone.

There was a suggestion he was keen to go to Spain in the summer if I remember.

The Celta manager confirmed in the summer they were interested in having him back in some capacity and several other Spanish clubs were also reportedly interest. I think the fact he ended up joining Pep suggests those links were more a case of Spanish clubs sniffing an opportunity for a player they are familiar with than it being the player pushing to return to Spain.

The more I think about it the more Betis seems like a good move. They are a decent side (midtable pushing for a European spot), with a handful of experienced players (Isco, Bellerin, Bartra, Lo Celso, Rico Rodriguez) and a respected manager (Pellegrini), and an opening in his preferred role. While Andalusia is not Galicia, going back to Spain will give him some familiarity and there will be at least one familiar face there

Not really, I think Slot knows Bacj is at the crossroads of his future. He has impressed in short run of matches but he now needs a run consistently in a full season so that he can prove that he can make the step from great potential to becoming a full squad player with us. Coming back to us when he will again play a few matches here and there is not helping him.

Other than the Trent and Bajcetic rumours which have already been discussed, all there is in the BBC’s gossip page are these unlikely rumours from highly unreliable sources.

Hahaha. Why do media outlets think we want to offload, let alone loan, players mid season given we are fighting on four fronts?

Well, because Chiesa is unknown in England, unseen at LFC, and a known entity in Italian football.

What is his record with developing players like though?

No idea, and most of his roles have been too short for there to have much in the way of player development.

I saw news yesterday we were supposedly interested in Forest’s Elliott Anderson. He has only been at Forest for 6 months, and interestingly it was that move that allegedly killed our proposed move for Gordon (by allowing Newcastle to bank the PSR revenue they needed).

No bud. Phillips could do with another run

I see we’re being linked with a Feyenord player. Anyway, he’s someone I’ve never heard of. Has anyone seen the requisite ten games?

Liverpool make £41m offer for midfield ace

According to a report from Spain, Liverpool have tabled a £41m offer for Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, as they look to beat Manchester City to his services.

An initial payment of £29m is mooted in the report, with the remainder of the fee being paid next season, as the Reds look to become even more dominant in the middle of the park.

The report is probably shite, but I have long been a fan of Tchouameni; I was hoping he would sign for us instead of Madrid, but it wasn’t to be.
