United look awful, I’d say they’re worse off so far.
I’m also not convinced that Mount is better than Fred, and he definitely is not what they needed. Eriksen has fallen off a cliff and Casemiro’s initial enthusiasm has waned.

Fred was very underrated, Mount is not a good midfielder and has been terrible so far.
Realistically, with a summer of huge changes I didn’t think we would be challenging for the title anyways. Too many players need to settle and we won’t be operating at our best for a few months.
See, I don’t think we have too many new players. We’ve three, just all in the same area of the pitch.
It’s no more or less than most teams would be integrating at the start of most seasons.
Thing is though that CM is better than it was last year and in my view considerably.
We also hopefully have the likes of Dias,Gakpo and Jota for more games.
My issue is Central Defence right now, I think we have the numbers in CM.
Yup, on paper there’s been improvements there but is it enough? I think we’re all happy with Mac and Szobo but Endo really is a wait and see and certainly not someone anyone would have envisaged being close to the calibre of player we’d have expected to fill that void.
Centre of defence is no doubt an issue. Maybe we’d hoped to move Matip on and then we could have gone and got the next Konate. With him staying it very much sounds like any CB that does come in will be a developmental project rather than someone we see challenging for starts this year. That to me is madness.
Wow…what an arrogant prick, almost looks embarrassed there at times…and then continued to progress to be an even bigger arsehole…
Best the world could hope for is that Saudi oil wells dry up overnight, then have pricks like him stuck there …no oil, no interest and then they can fade into obscurity.
You could do the same thing with the teams your not though.
That striker for Man Utd will be better than Wenghorst but then he was only stop gap. Casmeiro is starting to show his age in the two games I’ve seen so far, their defence looks no better than it has done even with the changes and I’m not particularly sure about that keeper.
We need a CD not just because of the injury prone apparentness of Kone but because VVD is 32.
“Just in the same area of the pitch” will make a big difference. And unlike most other clubs, we will be integrating 3 starting players at this “same area of the pitch.”
That’s fine, we can check back in May. City, Arsenal and Liverpool are significantly better squads than the rest of the league.
If you guaranteed that no Liverpool player would get injured until the end of the season (at least none of those we deem to be in our strongest XI), then I would agree with you. However, with the amount of injuries we’ve been getting over the last three years… Ugh.
Even Klopp said earlier today that we would need luck with injuries. How depressing is for a fan to hear that? Better medical staff, improved injury prevention, clearer transfer strategy? No, let’s have some good luck, even though we rode it twice in the last three seasons with disastrous results.
I’m not expecting us to buy a 50+ million pounds replacement whenever a Liverpool player gets injured, like Man City do, but surely someone at the club knows that we are a quality centre back and a quality defensive midfielder short of having a really, really good team?
Every team has these same issues with injuries. If Rodri breaks his leg Man City probably won’t win the league.
I think the moves for Henderson and Fabinho were certainly unexpected.
It seems to me we were maybe prepared and had contingencies planned for losing one of them, but that plan was not sufficient for a situation in which we lost both. Doing so made us change course a bit on what profile of player we were looking for and been caught too much on the back foot.
That is very unlike us and so I think that probably speaks to how negatively we viewed Hendo and/or Fabs’ attitude in response to the offers that we’d agree to those sales without having good plans in place to deal with them
Any unreliable rumours?
Not much difference now from what ive seem
Yes. We are signing melo back
There’s a very unreliable rumour that someone on Twitter actually knows something.
Manchester United have a long-standing interest in Sofyan Amrabat and are weighing up a move; Fiorentina have given Man Utd and Liverpool target until Friday to make his mind up over his future, according to Football Italia
We are copied into that.
That’s about all I could find from anything reputable.
Indykalia is going on about Nunez which is comedy.
Anyway, this isn’t something I worry about but if anyone is determined to worry about depth and injuries then the first one to panic about is GK. We’d struggle for top 4 if he missed the season.
You’re welcome for the anxiety.
Kelleher has never let us down.
Sure, he isn’t in Ali’s class, but who is? You’ll be hard pressed to find a better second ‘keeper in the league.
Lets say chelsea bid £80m…anyone taking that? Not sure klopp rates him that highly. Not started many lately inc end of last season
United look awful, I’d say they’re worse off so far.
They were shite the first few games of last season and still finished ahead of us. At this stage it doesn’t mean a lot.
We need a CD not just because of the injury prone apparentness of Kone but because VVD is 32.
And Gomez has looked a shadow of the player he was when he was regularly playing alongside VVD a few seasons ago and Matip about as robust as paper plane in a thunderstorm.
I don’t think we would after this summer.
We would be asking for 100m+
Effectively we would be strengthening a rival.
Every team has these same issues with injuries. If Rodri breaks his leg Man City probably won’t win the league.
But they would still finish in the top four… Also, if he broke it today, they would have a new 50+ million pounds midfielder in next week! And their players aren’t prone to injuries for reasons unknown, while ours are.
Despite that, we once entered a season with Matip and Gomez as the only senior partners to Van Dijk, and once started a season with Klopp berating journalists for suggesting that we needed more reliable midfielders because his senior options included Keita, AOC and Alcantara… I’m genuinely worried that we are pushing our luck again.
