So anyone remotely reliable has effectively written it off but we are still discussing some fantasy and the implications this fantasy has.
As I said I bet we get 20 posts talking about 70m we got offered for Nunez.

As I said I bet we get 20 posts talking about 70m we got offered for Nunez.
Better than 70m posts talking about the twenty quid weāll actually get for him.
I think we will get more than Ā£20 for him and itās really not.
We didnāt waste all summer he agreed to join then changed his mind after he did we said ok.
They are desperate to have another quasi center forward with all the quasi center forwards that they already have.
I think thatās very disingenuous because you could also classify Jones as having āa squad roleā by the same metric. In fact, Elliott has had only one season since returning from loan where he has had fewer minutes than Jones, which was the season he was injured in the third consecutive league he started of the four games at the start of the season.
Bradley meanwhile has had to compete with the best right-back in the league, if not the world, and yet has been playing relatively regularly despite that.
Iām not sure how you classify ātheir futures are very much in the balanceā however. Itās quite clear we want to keep them at the club.
The next Matheus Nunes.
Too bad Stevieās Saudi Club isnāt under PIF.
We could have used that extra money.
I donāt think the club ever hyped up Doak, it usually comes from the outside, mostly media and fans (and certain fans have actually become mediaā¦).
Heās obviously talented, already an international player, but talent also has itās different levels.
The club might feel like his ceiling isnāt as high as the outside world thinks, which is not rare. Coupled with getting an important offer, which doesnāt arrive for a lot of other young players.
Realistically, fans get easily excited over a lot of these young players, a lot of whom will not make it at Liverpool, especially when Liverpool is really at the top level.
We have the freedom in these discussions to say what we want and survive, rate them as we want and have high hopes, but the club at the end of the day is the one that is professional at it and has to make decisions from time to time. Deal with the consequences, good or bad.
Some will leave even when theyāre below 18, below 21 or over 22 (when youāre not old, but itās not like youāre a proper young player anymore).
They all develop differently as well, there are many factors that decide what will happen. We cannot take an example of a young player that was under Liverpoolās books until he was 22 or more and say that Doak should get the same amount of time. It makes no sense.
Itās no shame if they will not spend the majority of their careers here, a lot of these stories are successful ones. Footballing stories or even life stories.
I actually donāt think Doakās Liverpool chances are (or should be) over, but I can understand if the club does have a price for which they will be prepared to sell him, if they get it. Weāll see if there are certain clauses included, which wouldnāt surprise me.
That already speaks volumes a little bit, that the offer Palace made wasnāt just rejected, but a fee was reported which means we are ready to discuss or agree, if itās met.
Then thereās also the player side, he might want a quicker path somewhere else to be a PL player. Thatās also fair enough.
Jones has also had a stop start career with injury. He hasnāt had his ankle bent back the wrong way, but he has been significantly impacted by niggles, knocks and strains.
Despite that, Jones is very much the fourth midfielder in the pecking order, whereas Harvey is more like the sixth or seventh. Jones in getting starts and minutes in the league. Elliott couldnāt get on the pitch against Spurs. Iām sorry for Harvey, but I donāt think Slot fancies him. I really like him, but I can see why Slot doesnāt want to play him.
Personally, I think Elliott will be sold in the summer.
Really? I think there isnāt a player you have listed who isnāt going to go on to have a good career, but I think think the odds are against any of them going on to have a Liverpool career.
Elliott has already got loads of appearances, but Iāll be amazed if heās at Liverpool next year. I really rate Bajcetic, but he lost over a year of his career at a key moment and itās going to be tough to get back. Williams is already 23 and is obviously not going to come back to a Liverpool career. Tyler Morton is 22 and not getting in the Liverpool team. I canāt see it happening for him here. McConnell, again itās going to be tough for him. But he at least has some time on his side at 20 years old.
By all means tell me we shouldnāt buy a centre midfielder in the summer because we have Tyler Morton and James McConnell.
Ironically the player that, in my opinion is screaming out for a development loan, and I would back to come back Liverpool quality is not on your list - and thatās Quansah.
At 19, youād argue that Doak also has that time on his hands, and I wouldnāt argue against that. I wasnāt saying that heās finished. I was saying that my feeling was that he had a window open to him, and he missed it. He might prove me wrong, and I hope he does.
Rhys Williams is actually turning 24 next month.
Hope this helps
Fair enough. @Limiescouse has responded to you anyway.
There goes the credibility of Anfield Watch and Florian Plettenberg.
Did they have any?
Iām always willing to give people a chance. One chance.
Sometimes it is possible to pick up a gem who rises though the levels and shines on the biggest stage. Signing a 19 year old playing in Bundesliga 2 and thinking he was going to boss it at the top level of the Prem did seem a bit far fetched.
Hard to say what sort of moves we will be making. Iād really like to see us sign Kerkez, as I think he will button down left back for years to come. Maybe Kimmich might add midfield depth and also some versatility to back Bradley up at right back, assuming Trent does leave.
Will we sign a central defender?
What will happen to the forward line? Will it/how will it be refreshed?
Which of the three contracts will be renewed?
So many questions, but in the meantime the games are coming thick and fast. Brentford are no mugs but hopefully we get back to winning ways on Saturday to keep a healthy lead at the top.
You gave the footballers 0 chances when you created their transfer threads.
If Bournemouth are interested in Ben Doak, thatās something we should be looking at.
Early feelingā¦ and lack of any remotely reliable rumors suggest a quiet window, but we shall see if there is a shiny new surprise in it.
