The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Interesting if true and it is from “Anfield watch”, I do find headlines that say “reds told” when it’s what the reds are doing anyhow, no one has told us.

Really like Alvarez, but that would still be a hard one to get done. Atletico’s president recently said that they won’t bring any strikers this summer. Which would happen if Alvarez would leave this summer. Unless there’s a clause. Tough one.

My view is that I always thought he would be a big loss for Man City and he has shown in Madrid a player who can play for the best teams regularly.

He’s a good player so I wouldn’t mind Alvarez. If it is a swap deal with Nunez, and a very modest cash adjustment on top, I’d do it.

Mind you, I’d also want to know what else we are doing with the forward line, as we need pace and power.

I’m responding to the assertion we will keep 90% of the roster intact when 3/11 starters are in serious doubt of leaving and 2 more have had strong indications of interest from other teams. The 90% assertion doesn’t seem to square with the circumstances.

My preference of course is that we keep all 3 of Van Dijk, Salah, and TAA. But TAA seems to have been lured away by Real Madrid whom I detest for poaching one of our best players.

I’ll be sure to post reactions to actual good news when it happens. For example I’m on the record of being very excited of our signings of Szoboszlai and a positive reaction for MacAllister for his release clause. Adding Gravenberch was also a shrewd move with upside that has paid off. We had a great midfield rebuild.

If we’re only allowed to post positive reactions as you put it, it’s no longer a discussion board for football.

Way to sidestep the question.

Mo Salah is one of our best players ON the pitch. How do you replace his 30 goals and 20 assists if he leaves?

The previous poster sounded like he wanted to get rid of Mo.

So the question remains, how do you replace ELITE production like that?

I would love for Mo Salah to stay but that remains in doubt with our cheapskate owners. If they move on, we will need a top tier replacement, and those are not easy to find for such a great player.

And I ask why you care as you never express a single opinion about our play on the pitch.

There are plenty of answers you spread it across the forward line, his penalties for starters could be taken by someone like Maca who has a very good record.

Every other team doesn’t have Salah, how do they play football?

Not as well as the team which does have Salah, obviously.

It seems genuine as TIA and the Echo quote his agent who was pproached by Liverpool and he is up for it apparently? Who knows.

A brazilian outlet claims that Liverpool is in for central midfielder Joao Gomes for a deal around 50 million pounds. Supposedly they would be taking this player away from Manchester United. Is this guy the DM that Arnie Slot has been waiting for to replace Endo or is it mere speculation? Hopefully the interest is real. His numbers on FBRef look quite interesting. 97th percentile in tackles for a DM could really help out the back four.

All the other teams in the world don’t play with Mbappe. How do they manage to play football.

This is a nonsense answer, mate.

We’re talking about Mo Salah here. He has been instrumental in our run for the Premier League title this year. Sounds like most of you don’t care if he leaves, which is a shame.

I like the forward thinking here. It might take a few years to pay off, but when it does, it will feel nice to have wonderkids coming up through the ranks for Liverpool instead of having to pay obscene money for them from other clubs after they finally have a breakout season.

It’s hardly a discussion when all you do is post endless shite about how much money you want to wank over us spending on transfers.

TAN/TIA was in uproar when we sold or lost Suarez, Sterling, Cou, Torres and Mane and others.

We survived and will when Mo leaves.

Arteta wants Núñez?

Well that seals it, we need to sell him, he’ll never score goals for us…

They’re all shit sources, but sources all the same.
