They were all Spaniards, though.
There was a Spaniard in the works.

You want rumours? Iâll give you rumours âŚ
Liverpool , Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs showing an interest in Nottingham Forest and England midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, 25. (Caughtoffside)
Liverpool have joined Arsenal on the trail of 17-year-old French midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi after his impressive displays for Lille this season. (TBR Football)
Plus, the Dail Heil being Captain Obvious.
Liverpool have been scouring the market for a left-back to replace 31-year-old Scot Andy Robertson with Bournemouthâs Hungary defender Milos Kerkez, 21, one of their main targets. (Mail - subscription required)
An interesting non-LFC rumour is that RM are âtargettingâ Enzo Fernandez and that Chelsea would want Tchouameni in exchange. Heâs been a long-time target of ours and if RM are willing to sell maybe weâll be interested.
We made a tidy little profit on Assaidi if I recallâŚ
Posting the below to give @legalalien the day off.
Liverpool will face competition from Arsenalto sign Germany winger Leroy Sane, 29, when his contract expires at Bayern Munich this summer. (Fichajes - in Spanish), external
Iâll eat my hat if we sign Sane.

While I appreciate the efforts of my locum @clive, it seems that he missed one.
Weâre also being linked with a Fofana. Not Wesley or even Seko, but a Malick Fofana whoâs a winger, apparently.
Arsenal and Liverpool are among the clubs keen on signing Lyonâs Belgian winger Malick Fofana, 19, this summer. (CaughtOffside)

Any truth to this??
No idea. The source is Fishy apparently, but itâs not the most outrageous suggestion. It would mean pretty much guaranteed silverware, playing in an easier league, and guaranteed CL participation into the later stages.
Iâd be disappointed because I loathe and detest Bayern, but it makes sense from his perspective.
You just have to look up what Virgil earns at Liverpool now compared to what Bayern are paying Harry Kane. Then also consider the sing on fee he would receive. Would make sense for Virgil.
Unfortunately ![]()
Then again, he could ask Sadio about his experience in the land of lederhosen.
Iâd question anything like that coming out ahead of a cup final to be honest.
After or/an during the break would sort of make sense.
Just been reading a couple of presumably clickbait articles online. One of them saying Julian Alvarez is on our list of possible targets for the summerâŚbut the part I found most interesting was that it also claimed that we put in a bid last summer for Alvarez but couldnât agree a fee with City who wanted Diaz in part exchange along with a sizeable fee. We were allegedly willing to make that happen but couldnât agree on the valuation of Diaz.
I havenât heard or read of anyone else mentioning that rumour before (although I havenât really been listening to any of the podcasts this season) and I thought Alvarez moved because he wanted to go to Spain.
Wouldnât mind Alvarez.
It makes you sort of wonder whether it would be better for us to drop a few utterly naff rumours out there to keep them pleased.
Itâs like when government decides to act and announce in Parliament what you get is hostile made up stuff.
Liverpool willing to do a deal but half of the deal not being able to be agreed on is sort of meaningless.
His agent has claimed there is current interest. Some of those stories reporting this talk about us supposedly having interest last summer. If the money makes sense it certainly does from a footballing perspective.
Lies! We all know FSG are skint and wonât spend any money!
I read this article earlier⌠which mentions the same rumour
Michael Edwards lining up DREAM double deal for Liverpool
Story by Bence Bocsak

Michael Edwards may be lining up a dream deal that heâs been wanting to complete for years at Liverpool.
Over the years, Anfield Watch understands the clubâs chief has been pushing the Reds to enter the South American market.
Liverpool Transfer News: Reds told who they must sign as âŹ100m deal lined up to REPLACE Salah
Edwards was among those who were keen to bring Rodrygo to Anfield prior to his move to Real Madrid. He had also pushed for Liverpool to pursue other South American talents, including Julian Alvarez, who as Anfield Watch exclusively revealed is still on the clubâs radar.
But Edwards, during his first stint at the club, was never able to get his wish. At times, Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff had question marks about bringing in players from the region.
Other times, the clubâs inability to offer a direct pathway for prospective youngsters ultimately meant Liverpoolâs targets chose to pursue other options.
However, all of that is about to change.
Liverpool pursue double deal for Ecuadorean wonderkids
Edwardsâ main motivation to return to work for FSG last year was primarily because of their commitment to pursue a multi-club model.
FSG have pursued this possibility ever since and continue to monitor potential clubs to purchase. They came close to buying Bordeaux last summer but in the end opted not to pursue a move because of question marks about the French sideâs stadium lease.
The idea is that with another club under the FSG umbrella, Edwards would be able to present a direct pathway for youngsters into the Liverpool first team - similar to Brightonâs model with Union SG or the Red Bull football franchise.
Itâs early days but Liverpool are already pursuing potential candidates who could fit this profile, including two wonderkids from Independiente del Valle.
The Ecuadorean side have produced some of the most exciting young talents in South America over the last few years. This list includes Moises Caicedo as well as Willian Pacho, Kendry Paez, Joel Ordonez and Piero Hincapie.
Liverpoolâs scouts have a good working relationship with Independiente del Valle and have tracked the likes of Ordonez and Pacho for a long time.
They are currently keeping a close eye on the next up and coming prospects and have explored making a move for another promising centre-back.
Its revealed that Liverpool want to sign Independienteâs Deinner Ordonez, who at 15 years old is already playing at the U20 Sudamericana and training with the clubâs first team.
Heâs not the only player on the Redsâ radar though.
Liverpool are making moves to sign another 15-year-old wonderkid from Independienteâs academy.
According to their report, Liverpool are among the three clubs who are working in the transfer race to land Johan Martinez who will celebrate his 16th birthday on 10th May later this year.
The other two clubs in the race are Manchester City and Brighton, who incidentally both have a multi-club system in place.
Martinez is a winger who loves taking players on and is capable of using both feet which has earned him comparisons to Ousmane Dembele.
Just like Ordonez, because of his age, Liverpool wonât be able to bring him to the club for the next few years until he turns 18 years old.
But there is the possibility of making an agreement in advance and securing both Ordonezâs and Martinezâs future well before their 18th birthdays, just as Chelsea had done with Paez.
With the multi-club model in the works, Edwards has a higher chance of finally getting his wish and this Independiente duo could be the first of many signings of the kind.
Interesting if true and it is from âAnfield watchâ, I do find headlines that say âreds toldâ when itâs what the reds are doing anyhow, no one has told us.
