The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Lads, knock it off, will you? Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, so keep it civil.

Nobody is trying to ‘drive anyone off their forum’. When people post nonsense, knee jerk, reactionary, doom-mongering rubbish, other people are going to tend to want to point this out.

Not to mention if you give those 3 the wages they are demanding, you will then get Alison and Robbo and Jota and Grav (key players that generally will start whenever fit) all pushing to get a bump in their pay, which will lead to others pushing for more pay themselves.

Very true. We’ve already reset the bar of top earners with Salah’s current deal.

Does make you wonder what Virg, Trent Konate and Diaz might be asking for or being offered and if this new top bracket might already be causing us some issues with renewals.

Ultimately I think the team has to get younger and cheaper in terms of wages. You don’t do that by offering massive deals to everyone asking for one.

What PSG has done, transitioning their squad from a a quasi Galactico squad, to one filled with talented and hungry youngsters is a good template to use. Although LFC doesn’t quite have the same financial backing as PSG.

PSG had long claimed to want to be this team. They have long spoken about their desire to tap into the absurd talent pool of Paris to develop their own players and have often put more value on some of those young players precisely because of their local ties. But they just kept getting in their own way and had bad luck with injuries to legit home grown players (Kimpembe has gone about 2 years without playing because of injury).

This is what Campos was brought in to finally realize and credit to them as they look like they are finally living up their footballing vision, even if they’ve ended up doing it without much of a Parisian/homegrown presence

PSG have also spent €1b in the last three seasons on that plucky underdog team.

That’s the reason why I’m reluctant to give them praise. I’m not sure if they are Man City-level of corruption (simply because they are usually out of my sight) but, off the pitch, they are pretty much everything I’m against in modern football.

It gets to the point where you just ask yourself , how much money do these fuckers really need ? Just let 'em go if they’re holding the club to ransom.

Younger , cheaper … you’re dead right.

Which one is unmentionable Legs?

Xavi Simons still only 21?

The unmentionable one has not been mentioned. It’s in the nature of it being unmentionable.

It is mentioned on the BBC rumours page.

Manchester City , Liverpool , Chelsea and Arsenal have all been watching River Plate’s 17-year-old Argentine winger Franco Mastantuono, who has a release clause of about £35m.

That one?

Nope. Missed that one. Maybe we’ll let Chelsea pay 35 million for 17year old.

Plus he will be only 24 when he is released.

What if he gets time off for good behaviour?

Reminder that Frimpong grew up in England and joined the City academy when he was 10.
