Bournemouth are said to be keen on Kelleher but Chelsea might also be interested, apparently. I’m surprised that Utd haven’t been linked to him what with Onana being a bit crap.

Bournemouth are leading the race to sign Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, 26, from Liverpool . (Talksport)

Good. Make him a makeweight in the Kerkez deal :+1:t4::slightly_smiling_face:

Hopefully the amount of cash, on top of Kelleher, is modest. There are several suitors for Kelleher. Bournemouth can’t low ball us on the fee. Kelleher and 15M max and jobs a good ā€˜un. I would love to see Kerkez signed. He has stamina for days, pace, string, and since I’ve been looking at him a bit more I’ve seen some assists and decent attacking play. He can improve further and we really should get it done.

It’s a bit galling to see Real Madrid circling for Huijsen. I had in mind we might see a Bournemouth double swoop. Still might, nothing is done until it’s done.

That’s handy if they ever want to play cat’s cradle at half time.

I’m so bad at typing on an iPad screen :joy:

But a little soothing music is another thing that Kerkez lad can do. Sign him up!

I don’t think we’ll get much for Kelleher and I also doubt whether that would be part of a deal for a Bournemouth player coming here. Maybe it changes fees in separate deals, but not by much.

Still a lot of unanswered question first and foremost who leaves, but in terms of player sales who will still have a contract this summer, off the top of my head, I think our aim might be to earn around £100m or more.

If it is true that they are interested in Huijsen it is really starting to be pretty annoying, every time we want a player they gazump us. Have we pissed in their coffee or something!

He’s a quality keeper, tried and tested in the PL and at an ideal age. He should be worth 30m to any multitude of teams who see how much a below par keeper can cost them.

Kelleher plus 10m being enough to fund Kerkez sounds plausible, imho.

We’ll see, he’s got a year left on his deal. Best we got so far (which we know of) was Ā£8.5m from Forest in January 2024. They might use other recent GK transfers to pump up the price, but I don’t expect such a fee. The peak moment to do the best business deal financial wise is gone. I think it was two summers ago, a lot of PL sides which were realistic for him opted for other goalies. A good question was why not for Kelleher. But the good part of it is that we had a good goalkeeper for a bit longer. So it’s not all about money and numbers. I’m still very happy how we do stuff in the GK department: selection, training, transfers, etc.

The elite potential talent pool is small, and we have to compete with all the big teams. Huijsen is in Spain U21, and Real Madrid has been actively looking for a new center-back for a while. I’d be surprised if they hadn’t been following him for a long time already.

Liam Delap name is being bandied about quite a bit… 22yrs old last month

Called up to Spain’s senior squad for the first time, replacing the injured Martinez.

I’ve been following Delap’s career for about 6 years now - he’s not good enough to play at the elite level in my opinion.

I haven’t paid much attention to him. My vague impression is that he puts in a lot of effort but he’s quite clumsy.
