Two more years - he’s already 28, so a transfer to Barcelona might be viable if they stump up the cash. Could actually be a win-win situation for all parties, come to think of it.
Maybe a win win but he has often been one of our better players. Good outlet on the left and never stops running. Okay he comes inside too much and he needs more goals but not super easy to replace.
Lucho’s production is easy to replace with a better player. That’s what our scouting and recruitment department is there for.
The only thing that I think stops Diaz being sold this summer is that we have a absolute fuckload of business to do.
Name a left sided player withbetter stats
Gakpo?
Gakpo not as flashy and not as good a dribbler, but he’s better overall….at least he has been this season.
Alternatively, its a good time to cash in. Win the league and then we can do a hard reset - Diaz, Nunez, Tsimikas and Kelleher all out for maybe 120m alongside Salah, VVD and TAA. Apply some Chelsea type cheat codes and spunk the 300m budget on Kerkez (40), Huijsen (50), Gusto (40), Zubimendi (60), Torres (30) and another pacey forward.
I agree that Diaz is upgradeable because I’m always annoyed with his passing, but I don’t think it’s our priority now. I don’t see any clear upgrade options out there, while I always love having an elite dribbler in the team.
Or…
Try and keep as much of the team that won the league together with a couple of neccessary additions.
Not won yet.

Worst cheat code ever if that’s what it is

Not won yet.
Absolutely…
I was responding to a post the said “Win the league…”

I wouldn’t count the chickens yet but given the current state of the squad and contracts of key players, if Liverpool did win it, I’d be worried that the defence of the title would be worse than Leicester’s.
I agree that the majority of the squad should be kept together but I’m concerned about the drop-off that happened two seasons in a row at roughly the same point. I got the feeling that Slot doesn’t fully trust his reserves, so we might see a higher turnover of players in the summer than we’re used to.

I will have any money you like that we get more than 44 points next season.
I explained in the post above. I was responding to a post.

It used to be ‘cruel fixture list around Christmas/New Year’ but it has been extended throughout January/February now with involvement in FA Cup and the two (potentially four) additional CL games. AFCON from mid December to mid January? No problem
At some point it’s not possible anymore to perform at the highest level for the regular starters.
All fine if you’re leading the table by 12 points every season I guess.
Drop off jesus thats an over reaction if there ever was one.

What’s your take on their performance over the last month or so then?
The one in which we are second in the form table?
And it’s not particularly down to playing the dregs in the league. If we’ve dropped off what have our league rivals done, 2 goals in 4 games?
February/March was outlined as being particularly brutal.
We’ve been on a 3 match rotation up to the cup final with the only breather an FÃ Cup weekend. For a team that was at that point 6pts or so clear in a league and on for 97 I think that says a lot.
There was nothing particularly wrong with the 2nd PSG game bar the finishing.
