I suppose this being from the Telegraph does add credence to it:
There is confidence in Saudi Arabia that Liverpool and Egypt forward Mohamed Salah, 32, is open to joining the Saudi Pro League once his deal expires with the Reds this summer. (Telegraph - subscription required)
Not a lot credence attached to Talksport, but Brighton asking for a hundred million is believable given what they got for Caicedo.
Brighton have put £100m price tags on 23-year-old Brazil forward Joao Pedro and 21-year-old Cameroon midfielder Carlos Baleba to fend off interest from Liverpool, Newcastle and Chelsea.(Talksport)
If Harvey wants regular first team football for a PL club, then he’s going to have to leave Anfield. Would he get what he wants at Newcastle though?
Newcastle are plotting a surprise move for Liverpool’s 21-year-old English midfielder Harvey Elliott. (Teamtalk)
With the ongoing contract situation for some, and others not getting minutes on the pitch throughout the season, could it be slowly dawning on them they may not have a fulfilling future here… It could be argued that AS has been preventing things from bursting at the seams… I’m sure he will get us over the finishing line to secure the PL title… and he would deserve immense credit in doing so, no matter what season he achieves this…
Importantly though… the players will have had a season also, to judge whether AS is the type of Boss that they are happy to play for (Ibou, Alisson, Darwin etc)… Next season with a few signed additions to the squad… makes me wonder whether every present squad member will be re-evaluating their footballing futures
It’s weird to say, but we are a a bit of a crossroads. If we win the league, as expected, it might give a reason for players to go out on a high note, as it will never get better than that.
Some of them will be players we want, like the contract 3, but maybe they will sign off on a high note as title winners?
Some of them will be players we might consider more expendable, for the right fee, including players on the periphery of Slot’s squad.
5 is the over/under for me, in terms of new signings for the first team/squad. I expect three, or maybe four signings to go straight into the best eleven, to the degree such a thing exists; and one, maybe two signings to go into the squad and be used more than some of the current fringe guys who Slot doesn’t really use.
I’m sure they get a lot of footage that hits the cutting room floor once a player leaves but here you go. This is a bit flight radar ish - should be a big summer of tracking that too by the looks of the number of links in multiple positions.
Liverpool are among a number of clubs who are reportedly considering swooping for Aston Villa star Boubacar Kamara, with the Villans forced to offer him a ‘huge’ pay rise.
Kamara was side-lined through injury for much of last season. As such, while he seemed a useful asset in the season prior, Villa did not know exactly how well he’d fit in Unai Emery’s system upon his return.
But after recovering a couple of months into this season, Kamara has shown he’s one of the most important players at Villa, able to break up play and distribute the ball very competently, creating a great balance between defence and attack.
Quality displays have caught the eye of Premier League leaders Liverpool, as well as Arsenal and Chelsea, who are all said to be considering Kamara as a midfield option ahead of the summer, having each watched him this season
He’s a good player, but doesn’t seem like the profile of the midfielder we’d be interested in. More a defensive hole plugger than a constructive passer who is clever on the ball. More Fernandinho than Zubimendi. For those who have watched more than I have, am I wrong?
Liverpool and Manchester City are monitoring the contract situation of Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal but the 17-year-old Spain international looks set to remain with the Catalan club. (Mundo Deportivo - in Spanish), external
Barcelona would consider a swap deal involving Uruguay centre-back Ronald Araujo, 26, and Liverpool’s 28-year-old Colombia winger Luis Diaz. (Relevo - in Spanish)
How can they afford it? Billionaire owner who doesn’t GAF about FFP that’s how. They see that Man City never got punished for financial cheating so I’m sure they are all in on it as well. Cheat to win brought City multiple titles, Chelsea figures they will try the same.
Yamal is a pipe dream. He would be a wonderful player for Liverpool but I’m pretty sure Barcelona know they have a star in the making and won’t allow him to leave.
