The comedy transfer rumours.
As things stand Iām happy with our forward options and think we have loads of goals in us, but the best blend has been elusive. There will be times this season where we click and blow teams away, and then hopefully on most of the other days we have enough firepower to pick up plenty of points.
As things stand Im happy-ish with the midfield. Endo, Mac and Szobo looks like a good trio. Endo is unheralded, but Im backing him to be better than we think, and if he gives us some bite in the midfield, and allows the others to do their thing, he will be a good signing. We also have Thiago as the old head, plus Jones, Elliott and Bajcetic. Ideally we will get one more midfielder, to future proof us against Thiago leaving, and to give more cover for possible injuries. Thatās why I say happy-ish.
As things stand I am a bit concerned with the defence. Konate is excellent, but he does pick up niggly injuries and is usually only good for 30 games a season. Virg is still very good, past his best, but still very good, but getting older and will need some rest in those legs. Gomez is a good back up, for central defence and right back, and while Matip has been a great player for us, I think Iād like to see a new defender come in to bump him down the pecking order, and if the new man is good enough, hopefully he will see plenty of action. We look a bit vulnerable in central defence to me.
Will we sign someone?
Hard to say.
Maybe Gravenberch late on, or maybe Andre for January? Then in defence, perhaps Theate or Hincapie?
Two more signings would be just the ticket, and give us better insurance than now, although as it stands, Iām still hopeful.

Tried it once, site staff didnāt like it.
Ideally another CB,and midfielder coming in would be great and cover any shortfalls we will invariably have through injuries.
As it stands we are probably vulnerable at the back in that circumstance but time is running out to sort these spots.
More that happy with the signings so far this summer, we are probably better than we were last season, but a bit of icing on the cake out not go astray.

Liverpool TRIED to replace a legendary striker in Luis Suarez and ended up with Mario Balotelli! So NO, they donāt always get it right when they have to replace a top tier player. Those players are world class for a reason, itās very hard to find an equivalent replacement. Getting rid of Salah would be a mistake.

I have to say, Iām not that fussed. I just wish for clarity. Dragging this on to the point where we are put over a barrel and cannot replace him easily or well is the issue.
He is great for us and has been throughout but ultimately we will need to move on - sooner or later.
