27 is a problem. It feels he’s too close to 30 at this point to pay the sort of money Palace would likely demand for a player that important to them. It feels it’s one contract cycle too late for him to make a big move like this now.
Yeah, I guess either he stays at Palace and manages to negotiate an improved deal which would likely be his peak money or possibly there’s a move, if there’s room and need somewhere, but not really at one of the best sides in the league.
Like a Spursy move, the one Maddison got.
Don’t know where this should go but bet someone at City is changing passwords as we speak.
Eze is a good player but I can’t see us signing him. Age and likely cost would work against him. I can’t see us pushing the boat out for a good, but not great, player.
I wonder how this guy rates with his countryman Arne… and whether he could be a good fit for us when his confidence gets fully restored…
I’d rather have Kudus instead of Eze.
Are we going to pivot from transfer market to DNA extraction? Takes ‘home grown player’ to an entirely new level.
Maybe a Jurassic Park petrie dish job. Extracting the DNA of Pele from a lump of amber…
Kudus give me Mané vibes
Someone who can play in from the right as well.
Clubs always want players that are impossible to play, impossible to mark. So in conjunction with lab grown meat brand, Impossible Meat, comes with LFC…Lab Grown Impossible Player!
I didn’t realise he was that old now I understand why we are suddenly linked with him again probably his agent.
What! IMPOSSIBLE!
Line at the end, Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in Delap. Sounds like the business we usually look at, player with a release clause so a controlled cost. Haven’t seen him enough to have an opinion on if he could come in and be the player we wanted Nunez to be.
This may be way off, but I think Giroud is probably the better comparison for what he might look like if he can ever get to this level. That sort of player without elite technique and cleverness, like Giroud had, is a bit of an old fashioned throwback who you might have expected to make a decent career for himself in the 80-90s as a CF, but wouldnt have what it takes at this level anymore. I thought that was the expectation for him when he left City, hence landing at Ipswich. I havent seen much of him this year to suggest anything different so these links surprise me. But I havent seen that much of Ipswich in general so there is that.
That’s a great comparison. In my head I kept coming back to Chris Sutton but then thought Sutton was more athletic/quicker.
Hes better than that 12 goals in absolutely terrible Ipswich side. I think he will become another of those players where you say i can’t believe Pep let him leave.
Maybe slightly higher in quality, but similar in type. And up until now I have viewed him as close to Davies than to someone like Giroud.
