The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

I think it would depend on how confident he was that those other clubs could address their problems. For us, his concern would be whether he would be in the starting team should Konate stay here.

One year to learn (and fill in when Konate gets one of his injuries) and then take over if Ibou leaves on a free next summer? And Virg can’t go on for ever.

By the start of the 2027-28 season, Huijsen + Ibou/Quansah/AN Other could be our starting CB pairing.

If Chelsea make the CL, they could possibly be the ones to fight for him. If they can offer more game time immediately, basically a starting spot. But who knows, nobody knows what Huijsen will want. Stranger things have happened. So much that some things shouldn’t be strange at all.

United already got Yorro. They aren’t going to pair two centre backs so young up as first choice.

Spurs are a basket case. Manager is likely to go in the summer and arguably their biggest strength is Romero and Van Der Ven when both are fit.

Chelsea just churn players. Possibility they’re not in the CL and that the manager may be gone in the summer.

Money talks of course but he’d surely be looking at those four options and thinking he’d rather be playing for a title challenger, learning from one of the greats and fancying his chances of ousting Konate, even if that’s in a years time if he doesn’t sign a new deal.

Not sure why people are so relaxed regarding Konate leaving on a free. He’s about to enter his prime and is a rather good centre back, if not just yet a world class one. For what it’s worth, I’d set him an ultimatum: July 1st should be the deadline for him to inform the club about his decision. In case he stays (which I hope so), then great. If not, he should be sold this summer, so the club can reinvest that fee.

I’d rather he stayed - in fact, I’m one of his biggest fans on this forum. But until he signs a new contract, the possibility that he may leave has to be entertained.

No qualms there but I’m a bit concerned about all the players we’ve seen leave the club on a free during Klopp’s years that might have left the club short-handed in the transfer market. Yes, some of them were unflushable turds or perennially injured but losing Trent and Konate on free transfers in the space of a calendar year will surely hurt, both on the pitch and financially.

He could be worried about game time with us.

If I was Huijsen I would stay at Bournemouth for another season.

If I was Huijsen I’d join Liverpool immediately. Best club in the world.

He should ring Caicedo and Lavia if he was ever tempted by Chelskis millions.

I mean, if a club is smart and well run, your statement is 100% true, but you’re referencing Man Utd so I’d say there is every chance they’d decide pairing 2 teenagers in central defense is the fastest way back to the top of the prem for them…

Do PL rules still allow for a player to be bought and then remain on loan at the same club?

Why would we do that? We need a CB!

Which can only happen if the player agrees to the move…same situation we have with Diaz…

We can loan them a keeper… or sell them a decent one.

Wasnt it Bournemouth we intended loaning the Georgian keeper we signed last summer to?

Dunno how reliable that was to be honest.

Admittedly I don’t often dip into a lot of the threads on here, but are people relaxed about it? The focus has been on the three contracts expiring this season, understandably but, I think haven’t seen anyone comfortable with the idea of him going. As far as I’m aware everyone wants him to stay. It’s just taken a backseat to the contract situations of this season
