Was 111m if memory serves, and we’ve since spent 16m. Less than 90m left buys you one of those three.
Also, think the bid for Caicedo was a one off.

Still have the money we have got from selling Fabinho / Henderson.
As well as the wages saved when Keita / Ox / Fabinho / the above two / Arthur left. I think that’s 300m over 5 years saved.
Money isn’t a problem. Not to mention Salah’s wage off if he does decide to leave (which I hope he doesn’t)
Money isn’t the problem. Being indecisive in transfers is.
It’s not indecision. It’s knowing what our valuation is and being unwilling to budge from it.
The Lavia transfer alone proves that wrong. Had we been decisive enough there , we would have quoted 50m much earlier in the window and bought him instead of going back and quoting 50m when Chelsea had offered 55m
That’s indecision. Edwards wouldn’t do that. Neither would Ward.
Even if Lavia didn’t live upto expectations considering his young age , there is very little chance of making a huge loss. His potential alone would recoup the majority of the transfer cost.
Appropriately I’m reading through the Lavia thread at the moment, and unless I’m much mistaken, there’s no indication we ever bothered going back to Southampton’s original valuation, let alone above.
People need to learn to stop believing all the bullshit that they read out there.
We were quoting at 46m.
And did that rumour match Southampton’s supposed valuation?
Except that’s not what happened according to Jason Wilcox - we had a bid accepted by Southampton before Chelsea did. We simply don’t know if Chelsea would have outbid us on wages with the player earlier had we agreed a fee with Southampton sooner.
There is clearly an element of opportunity cost when valuing potential deals - it’s fair to say that when we submitted our first bid, we felt there were other options open to us at better value. By the time of our final bid there were fewer options remaining on the table.
If we let Salah go, who do we bring in, with 5 days of the window remaining? That’s why we need to to tell the Saudi’s where to go.
I think it’s fair to say we have been indecisive at times. Or, maybe more accurately, we haven’t have always had a good plan in place.
The sale of Fabinho and Henderson seem to have caught the club by surprise. Getting over 50 million quid and 400k wages per week off the books was a gift, and a great opportunity to strengthen. Endo will hopefully turn out to be a good signing, but it is obvious we have struggled to make the most of the opportunity.
We’d be fucking morons to sell Mo for any sum right now.
No proper DoF. Analytics team in flux. Made a right hash of finding a suitable DM and we don’t have time to be picky and stick to valuations we come up with.
Also, who would even be a target? Assuming we’d want a left footer there’s not a single name that immediately comes to mind beyond Saka and he isn’t leaving Arsenal right now. Adeyemi maybe?
Sell Mo and buy Lukaku. Done.
Well, you never know what FSG would do!
FSG send a massive fucking duck off to the destabilising bunch of cunts.
Saudies all quiet about Mo, now that Kharma kicked their Toonies in the nuts.
As usual no one. So better he stays. 150 million next year after our title winning season!!!
We pretty much do, FSG won’t sell Mo in this window. Mo won’t try to force a move, and even if he did FSG have shown they will hold a player who is trying to force their way out of the club.
Any deal is likely to be either next summer or beyond.
As I said if he wants to go then we arrange an arrangement for next summer that gifts us a reasonable amount for a player like him in his final year.
If they wanted him do it June. Not now. All the things suggested they knew in June bar the fact another club fancies him in Saudi Arabia, and if that’s so why would Liverpool sell this summer when they can have a bidding war next with also PSG thrown into it.
As trigger would say……”so what you saying?”
How about we just say no and gift him the £18m his contract stipulates we pay him for this season and he turns up and does his best.
If we want something to happen next summer then we talk about it when the season is done rather than three games in.
The answer is no. If you want to talk about it then June 2024 is the next time we’ll entertain any kind of discussion but bring your cheque book.
