The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

I know I read a few comments when Arsenal signed him that he’d had injury issues, but looking at his history… eesh.

And that’s just page 1 of 2 lol. And he’s still not even 23…

The cynic in me is afraid that Real Madrid are already “grooming” him for a free transfer in year’s time. I really hope it isn’t the case but more from the perspective of the message it might send to players.

I also really, really don’t want to see Quansah leave but his head might be turned by the promise or regular football elsewhere. That said, I don’t think he would have extended his contract had he not been promised a clear, long-term pathway into the first team.

What about Guehi? Was all the rage at the end of last season, now I hardly see him mentioned. Homegrown, last year of his contract etc. Or maybe both him and Huijsen if Konaté goes.

They’re also grooming Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Diaz, Gakpo, even those players who haven’t joined us yet.

Not to mention they’ve been grooming Salah for years.

There was such a report regarding Konate in some news outlet that I consider “reliable” - but I genuinely can’t remember which one, it might have been The Athletic, hence my concern.

They can’t have Diaz for 80 million pounds, though.

Mmm “grooming”. Sounds more Rochdale than Madrid!

I get they are big, glamorous, successful and it’s warm and a nice city but…. It’s the arrogance I hate, the entitlement…. Oh and the financial cheating with the government and local council.

And Ramos….

No.

Why? He is an excellent 3rd/4th option that can fill in every position of the backline. He is still young and he is homegrown. He won’t fetch some ridiculous fee either.

He isn’t even injury-prone, he’s just been extremely unlucky with the severity of his injuries.

That came out wrong - even though I was one of the first posters to ask for his sale two years ago when his extended run form was pretty weak. Taking everything into account, I wouldn’t be against his sale if it opened up a spot for a new centre back who has potential to take over from Van Dijk in the future and also if it guaranteed more minutes and development for Quansah.

If we want to add at CB, and I understand the argument for that being among our priorities, then we probably need to make room for whomever it is we bring in. Gomez is the obvious choice for that given the age and status of everyone else. There is a scenario though where if Trent leaves and we cannot find who we really want as a replacement that he gets kept on for a year to be Bradley’s #2 at RB.

That is probably an unlikely scenario so I’d say the chances are pretty high that not only does Gomez leave but he’s played his last game for us. Imagine the scenes if he makes it back in time to play against Palace and comes on as a late sub, going up for a corner and…

Isn’t there a place to discuss defence elsewhere.

Morgan Rogers name being touted if AV sign De Bruyne

I thought he would head off to MLS.

He leaves on a free transfer - AV seem interested (apparently)
"What’s next for De Bruyne is unclear. He’s made it clear he doesn’t want to rule out a move to another Premier League team. There’s even been suggestions that Liverpool could make a move for him.

The latest though seems to suggest he could be heading to another Premier League team instead.

According to Melissa Reddy, writing for Sky Sports, Aston Villa have begun internal talks about the possibility of signing the Belgian star on a free contract."

Well that’s kind of why I thought he would head out there.

His hair colour wouldn’t be great in a hot climate like SÃ.

It’s been tried before and lots of ‘blueys’ have survived just fine in SA, SA and SA.

As @PeachesEnRegalia knows, it’s having to sunscreen your noggin that makes things tough

Reported.

No need for this sort of thing at all.
