The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Yeah I won’t lie, the first time someone raised the whole “he wasn’t feeling himself” thing (I think it was @RedWhippet) the first thing my mind went to was mental health issues.

Guy needs some time away to reset. It can’t be healthy for him either, if his partner and child are away.

His effort has noticeable dropped he hasn’t been the chaos he used to be for a long time.

I disagree on that. It’s not the effort that’s dropped, it’s his positioning. You see it pretty much with no matter who plays centre-forward I think. It’s not so much the aggression we’ve come to see but a more disciplined positioning.

I totally disagree far too many times hes looked disinterested even to do the basics.

I agree his effort has dropped. Head down a lot now. Resigned to not scoring.

Have we basically cost ourselves 5 million bringing Darwin on.

Or is it utter garbage.

Fee was rumored to based on starts, not appearance.

Expect him to be subbed on 5 minutes into our next match…

Garbage, keeping him, or £5million to troll some journalists.

The rumour was.

MARCA have apparently said that Madrid want him this summer.

Who? :man_shrugging:

Yeah I’ve read today that (other than obviously Trent) they’ve decided going for a LB and a midfielder (didn’t replace Kroos as the main midfield controller, big loss). So it sort of explains why they’re not pursuing Huijsen (or Konate?), but let’s see if they get involved for Kerkez.

Lets get him locked down, Richard!

He made an odd comment the other day explicitly ruling out moving to us. Did anyone see it.

Sorry mate, I’d hit reply to the above post but for some reason it didn’t show as a reply.
Meant Kerkez.

Something tells me Kerkez isn’t the one. Maybe it’s all just too obvious or the fact there’s too many rumours for him to actually be the target.

My guess is Miguel Gutiérrez. Right age, three full seasons in a top flight league, €35m release clause.

Seems like the journos have been briefed about a big summer. Lewis Steele and Chris Bascombe both posted articles about a busy summer with a lot of finds available.
Although ironically one of them goes on to say Kerkez might be too expensive.

This is Bascombe’s bit on it:

Kerkez was signed for £15.5 million by Hughes during his spell at Bournemouth, his stellar form on the south coast validating the sporting director’s eye for talent. An issue with Hungarian international Kerkez is his current valuation, with Liverpool reluctant to overpay for a left-back as they are looking for a player to share the workload with Scotland captain Andy Robertson, not necessarily relegate him to back-up status.

Also:

As well as Núñez, fringe players such as Joe Gomez and Kostas Tsimikas will be available. There are also likely to be offers for Scotland winger Ben Doak, who is back on Merseyside recovering from injury after a successful loan spell at Middlesbrough.

Have we given up on Doak then?
