Had these Saudi guys bid 200 million at the start we could have got lot of quality. Whatās the point in bidding 150 million at the close? FSG will not spend them anyway. Already 100 million from Caicedoās bid hasnāt been spent.
The amount strikers are being traded Gapko is a steel. I wouldnāt mind us bidding for Vlahovic for say 30-35 million as Juventus might even accept the offer as they are intent on bringing in Lukaku. Next summer he might be double that. He is only 23!
My only hope is that weāre waiting on some opportunities to emerge in these last few days as squads are finalised.
The Gravenberch situation is obviously one that is rumbling on. I had thought United might be favourites there but they might have to focus on left back now. Think heād need to force it to get a move now and Bayern might have done enough for him to give it another season.
As for centre backs, Iāve given up hope of seeing a genuine challenger for the current four. Maybe we see a young, low cost prospect come in. More likely though we fail to move Phillips on and him and Quansah are seen as that fifth option until weāre forced to replace Matip next summer when he leaves.
As has become want, weāre going to do the minimum required and hope we have better luck with injuries. But weāve already been playing Gakpo in midfield and will have just two senior centre backs for the villa game so itās not looking great on that front.

If there was even a shadow of a chance Nunez would move to Chelsea before it totally evaporated after his heroic performance against Newcastle!
I wonder if they could give us a peak at their shortlist of defenders. We could do with one ourselves but seem to be struggling to find one.
Gomez performed well against Newcastle, he occupies a valuable homegrown slot, and he can cover for Rightback with Konate out. I donāt think heās going anywhere now.

Now Iām reading that Arthur Theate could be coming to Liverpool if Matip goes back the other way. Even if weāre paying more for Theate than we get from selling Matip this feels like a good move. Theate is likely going to be healthier and more available for selection and also might be a better fit in our new system.

We all know heās going nowhere.
Phillips should have been sold AGES ago and I wouldnāt be surprised to see him finally leave if we can find a suitable CB addition this summer. But the question remains will FSG sanction any further moves? So far it looks like they put their big wallet AWAY after the Caicedo bid Failed!

I canāt see them sanctioning anymore moves away unless someone comes in, someone commented that Klopp said we the squad was small and that it would be moves in at the PC yesterday.
I think that money remains or at least a sizeable chunk.
