The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Thats you.

Shame on me!

I saw a number of posts and thought something might be happening. Frimpong? Vanderson? Wesley? Who will the right back be? Have we moved to the front in the race to sign Huijsen? Any news on Darwin, and the incoming striker?

Nah. Just a load of contract bollocks. :joy:

Gotta love the interweb.

Once again I will ask are you paying them for this essentially a contract 2 years over.

Provide me with a source to show that a contract signed between Person A and Company A that states that if person A works for Company B within a set timeframe, that person A will financially compensate Company A is either (a) illegal or (b) unenforceable.

Legal source please, not “because I said so”.

Thanks.

Entirely unrealistic was me being kind. Fucking ludicrously stupid is also me being kind.

No one is signing a contract that restricts their ability to play somewhere when they’ll no longer be getting paid by the club they initially signed with.

Once again, I say no.

All contracts don’t have to involve a party being paid to adhere to the agreement.

Sorry but this nonsense is now just ridiculous. You appear to be an Agent Provocateur so addios.

Unrealistic, fucking ludicrously stupid… I don’t mind… You can call it a bazillion to one, never going to happen. That’s fine, not arguing this point at all

I’m merely asking for some reason, with a reliable source, as to why such a stuplation isn’t enforceable.

I can imagine the conversation Alexis we would like to offer you this 5 year deal. This is not really 5 years because you can’t join Real for 2 years or you are paying us. Alexis where you going please come back.

So standing my ground and fighting my corner is being a “Agent Provocateur”? Would you rather I just cower to your bully boy tactics?

As Del Boy would say, bonjour!

… You can’t join Real on a “free”.

If Real “buy” Alexis at any point, the original contract is terminated, as is the case with all contracts. So the player can move to Real at any time, provided Real pay a fee that Liverpool are happy with in order release the player from said contract.

Hate this derailing of this thread and know almost zilch about contract law and don’t pretend to do so.

But what about restraint of trade clauses that apply to many jobs after you leave a company, is this not a similar situation?

Reason 1. Because you can’t enforce something no one would agree to in the first place.

Reason 2. It’s a non-compete and they aren’t enforceable in sport.

Reason 3. It essentially breaks the fabric of the game so FIFA, UEFA, The FA, The PFA would all clamp down on it immediately.

Reason 4. There’s good reason no one has done this already and that’s because it couldn’t be enforced.

If you really want to know why it isn’t enforceable go do your own research instead of telling people who clearly know more or who have an ounce of common sense that they’re wrong.

Reason 1: Hypothetically, if somebody did.

Reason 2: Source please.

Reason 3: Opinion

Reason 4: Source please.

I haven’t claimed anything to be enforceable or unenforceable, you and others are the ones making absolute statements and declaring them as fact without offering a shred of supporting evidence.

If you’re so confident in what you’re saying, back it up with something more than attitude. Otherwise, don’t lecture others about “doing their own research” when you’re not willing to do the bare minimum yourself.

You can’t join Real for two years AFTER we stop paying you and no longer control your registration.

But if you don’t control my registration because im a free agent how can you stop me joining whoever I want?

Wishful thinking, blind hope and dismissing reality my friend.

Why would you say hello to someone who is leaving  do you not mean au rèvoir.

You signed a contract.

Seeing as it appears I’m bringing misery to a lot of very angry people tonight, let me bring you some joy… Start watching Only Fools And Horses, all will become clear.

It’s going to be a long summer.
