The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Very good player but fairly injury prone.

Leverkusen have it seems already replaced Wirz with Ibrahim Maza from Herta Berlin for around €12.5M.

One thing Robbo lacked in his armoury, was dribbling the ball to the by-line, before pulling the ball back across the goal… note the difference here with Kerkez:

*Milos Kerkez is known for taking the ball to the byline before crossing. He is considered a major threat when crossing from near the byline, as seen in his assists against Everton and Manchester City. *
*For example, in a match against Manchester City, Kerkez beat Phil Foden for pace, reached the byline, and squared the ball for Semenyo’s goal. *
He is also described as having a roughly even split between crossing from near the byline and crossing from further back

I think we will keep Robbo, sign Kerkez and sell Kostas. Kostas will have suitors as he’s a solid player, and it will put some money in the bank.

I expect Robbo to stay and help make Kerkez even better. The younger man has a lot to his game, and especially his physical conditioning. But Robbo will bring even more out, while also giving the last of what he’s got left in the tank, at an elite level.

In 1-2 years I expect Robbo to rock up at Celtic, hopefully with another Prem and CL in the bag. He has been an excellent left back for us, and I think he’s got more to give, per above.

Yeah, hopefully Robbo will only have to play once a week or so, which should help him extend his career.

Tierney’s going back to Celtic on a free this summer so who knows if Robbo ends up there.

IMO, Robbo deserves a two year extension, if only based upon the fact he epitomises what we want from a footballer at LFC…
Before Jurgen, to say our team/club was disjointed would be a massive understatement - we have a grit and determination now that we never had before…
The attitude Robbo portrays is paramount to this - However, the guy himself needs to do some self-assessment, and recognise, his legs and inner engine are most certainly on the wane… his role now, is to blood his own ā€˜mini-me’ that signs for us

Sadly I think it’s this kind of sentimentality that saw us hand out a new deal to Henderson when there were already signs of decline.

At best I think I’d look at Robbo getting a one year deal with an option for a second but only if we don’t think there’s a good enough option to replace him with next summer.

It’s why I wouldn’t be against a Hincapie, Hato or Inacio type CB this summer. Someone who could play LB or left sided centre back. Someone who’d mean we’re not forced into keeping Robbo, would give us chance to rest Virg and with a long term eye in succeeding him.

We don’t win titles without Scots though.

Promote Doak then.

Depends if he wants to sit on the bench. Same for Robbo really. He can do a job just not how it’s been though. His performance last week showed he is still a good player on a weeks rest.

We would have to buy a sub regardless if we sold him as Tsimikas is likely to go.

Absolutely and Irish players.

Well Conor Bradley and Alexis heritage should cover that

Noise about Kelleher and Leeds Utd, similar type of noise is surrounding Tsimikas going there also… Ok Ok, silly season has started early, but it could be a good move if it happens.
At the end of the day, Tsimikas has never lit Anfield ablaze with his performances, but he has never let us down either…
Would be good to see him playing regularly, for a fanbase that would likely to take to him…

Which one?

Ha Okay… Tsimi of course.
Have edited the sentence because it was a tad confusing

And today’s CM target is …

I’m sure we could do better than Nkunku.
A move for Chelsea’s French striker Christopher Nkunku, 27, could also be part of Liverpool’s summer plans. ( Footmercato - in French, external)

And I’m sure Harvey could do better than Wolves.

What’s your view on Wharton :joy:

Doubt we would be signing a 27 year old striker who hasn’t really done much at this level.
