The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

You mean Gyokeres

I don’t think we are signing him eithier.

Nkunku seems unlikely but there were loose links when he was at Leipzig and if he measured up to our needs then (ie was rated by our analysts) and is now undervalued, maybe there’s a chance now.

We did alright with another Chelsea flop.

I’d be disappointed for Kelleher if he didn’t get into a regular CL team, that’s his level.

I read the whole article, which was more about Wharton’s growing up (it’s a nice one, actually). It only says in passing that Liverpool and Real Madrid are monitoring him. I’m not saying it isn’t true, just that this article barely reflects on it. For what it’s worth, I rate him, though I’d be wary of his injuries and I don’t really think that, even if he was Man of Steel, Liverpool would be able to afford buying such an expensive player in position where they already have Gravenberch and, to an extent, Mac Allister. We also don’t know what happens with Bajčetić…

Well, it looks like Real have finalized the Huijsen deal so we can put a pin in that

I put a pin in that last week, when Real’s interest was reported.

I probably should put a pin in the Wirtz one too, but there’s a chance there still.

His injuries last season were pretty serious, which would be my only concern, but if the deal is right he could be next seasons lucky dip attempt (like Chiesa this)

Problem is I saw who reported the Wharton link a week or so back and it’s that newspaper we don’t buy.

And?

He had a couple of decent seasons in Italy and was younger. He arrived on the back of that at 25 and was 22 at Chelsea.

It holds up about as well as not buying Italians because one was injured, Chiesa didn’t play and Balotellu was slightly odd.

I’m not in the habit of off funding their mistakes.

There weren’t any references of that lot in this Daily Mail article but thanks for pointing it out, of course. That said, I think there were some tentative links with Wharton last summer but I would have to do some digging to remember who reported them.

Yeah no worries it’s the only recent link I had seen and the press recycle stuff.

Frimpong does seem to be increasingly likely.
Bayer Leverkusen and the Netherlands right wing-back Jeremie Frimpong, 24, has agreed a five-year contract with Liverpool. (Talksport)

I think this would be a good destination for Caoimhin.
Aston Villa are eyeing Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher as a potential replacement for Martinez but face competition from Chelsea, Newcastle United and Bournemouth for the 26-year-old Republic of Ireland goalkeeper. (The I)

Increasingly.

I think it’s a done deal… all the journos are saying it’s done and he sat out the game.

BREAKING NEWS: Real Madrid sign Jeremie Frimpong as Bayer Leverkusen sign Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Quite a lot of clubs would be eyeing up Kelleher now. Even clubs which qualify for Europe. We should be able to get a bidding war in.

Furious Florian Wirtz response given as Bayern Munich chief hits out amid Liverpool transfer claim.
Bayern were apparently pissed off because of the rumour that he was having been at mancheaty for talk when they actually confirmed he was in England to visit LFC, very interesting indeed.
