The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

The rumours were started by Anfield Index, I think, which is a fan site that publishes all sorts of statistical insights and articles about Liverpool players and potential targets. I wouldn’t count them as a reliable source for transfer news, though.

That said, I think that Alvarez would have been great but I assume that ship has sailed given the amount of money Atletico paid for him.

By the way, your nickname sounds awfully familiar. Welcome back!

It was reported in January that Nunez was open to that Saudi move.

Atletico’s coach said that Alvarez is going to die there () so doesn’t look like he’s moving any time soon.

Same type of dead body quote as Arteta?
And that didn’t age well!

Are you suggesting camels are less important than footballers?

I’m suggesting that livestock can be bought and sold without their consent. It always amuses me when selling players to the Saudis is thrown around like flogging unwanted crap on Ebay.

We might have more luck listing him on Al-Ali Express

Two years, and that’s what you come back with?

All the tools are there, it’s just…

Luck, zodiac, stars, voodoo.

But all the tools are(n’t) there.

Brilliant we can swap for Alvarez.

Maybe we’re looking to do that rare part-exchange deal?

Latest rumours is that Mbeumo is wanted by Liverpool as Franks is backtracking about him staying at Brentford.

Donkey for donkey swap!

Fair. In all the conversations about what we as fans would, or wouldn’t do, we are of course talking about people and their livelihoods, and they have agency in whatever they do. It isn’t just moving chess pieces around a board.

Still, all things considered, it looks like we are going to see a fair amount of change to Slot’s squad this summer, and my guess is something like 4-5 in and 7-8 out, though some of the outgoing players have not really featured so we won’t be short, as such.

Don’t know about anyone else but I’m really looking forward to seeing how this new 325 system fares.

Frimpong Virg Kerkez
Mac Grav
Salah Mbeumo Pedro Alvaraz Wirtz

Reckon Arne could make it work still.

A reliable source (James Ducker) reported Man United’s interest in Mbeumo a few weeks ago. There was no mention of Liverpool’s interest, so I assume someone wants to instigate a bidding war.

Much like Christmas, silly season seems to start earlier and earlier every year.

Can’t wait for the window to “slam shut” after three months of non-stop rumour mongering and Frimpong be our only signing in it all.
