See we are discussing selling one of our best players.

Every player has a price, though.

Cliché alert :police_car_light:.

Zero chance of us selling Cody.

Not to say that anyone would, but if a club offered over £100m you can bet your bottom dollar that he’d be sold.

Why though?
Why would the current champions pay out large for players to imprthe team, whilst selling one of their current best players?

We can make arguments to sell:
Jota (injuries)
Nunez (form)
Tsimikas (Kerkez)
Elliot (Wirtz)
Kelleher (Game time)
Maybe even Diaz?

There are a few nailed on “stayers”. Already proven with Mo and VVD.
MacAllister, Szoboszlai, Gravenberch, Allison and Gakpo are the core of the team.

Diaz played almost 500 minutes more than Gakpo in the league. It’s by no means a stretch to say that Cody is our second-choice left winger/forward.

£100m for a player who isn’t an automatic starter? You bet they’d take it.

Fortunately, it’s unlikely we’ll receive such an offer anyway.

You know what.
You’re right.
Sell him.

I’m not saying that we should sell him.

I’m saying that if a huge offer came in, he would be sold.

There’s a difference.

Why are we even discussing what is clearly just a petulant strop by Bayern?

Because the season’s over and there’s fuck all else to do.

I’ve read a few articles recently, that have hinted/suggested, that Bayern Munich are not exactly flush with money. Something their own fans are also suspicious of… Which I suppose, could explain away, the posturing demonstrated by spouting about Gakpo as an exercise in appeasing these fans…
They wanted Wirtz, but we got him instead. Now comes the job for explaining that away to their homebase

Gakpo younger, a better goalscorer, was injured and took some time to get up to speed after. Clear first choice IMO, though nice to have them both

Because I put my hat on and left the pub, but @cynicaloldgit called me back in

I never call people back in. I’m glad to see the back of them.

This guy doesnt look special for 100 million based on the highlight reel ;). Age is on his side though at 22 years. Alvarez will be a better fit in my opinion.

There’s no chance of Atletico selling Alvarez though. Striker options pretty thin on the ground so there will be a premium. Have no idea if Etitike is a good option

Yep, the thing I like is that means we are going for a striker. The problem is which one.

The best names mentioned are obviously Isak and Alvarez, but they don’t appear to be realistic. I mentioned Osimhen could have been a good option in terms of quality/price but it sounds like he’s going Saudi to cash in, so that’s a non starter. Then there’s the usual “Gyokeres/Ekitike/Sesko” category, all could be good options but all come with question marks. If we do gamble with one of those, we will have to trust the stats nerds. Maybe they come up with something else.

Wont mind Delap to be honest. He is quick for his height and is a steal at 30 million. Very young and a good header of the ball. Was surprised to read this stat, didnt know he was the quickest striker - With a maximum speed of 36.55km per hour (22.71mph), the England Under-21 international has been recorded as being the fastest striker in the Premier League behind Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (36.59km per hour),
