The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Nope average at best for me.

I like what I’ve seen of Ekitike, I think he’ll be a good fit.

There is also a question mark around his attitude, and wouldn’t he be likely to play at AFCON too?

Still think we should ban Plettenberg and Falk whatever his name is.

Didn’t he go out on loan to Turkey precisely because he didn’t want to move to Saudi?

Yikes, this makes Nunez and Diaz look like prime Torres.

If only we can sign a player like Torres now  Thats 3 Premiership and atleast 2 Champions League in the next 5 years.

Yeah, that would be an issue

Possibly yeah, Chelsea were pushing but couldn’t reach a deal. But I’ve read he’s in talks and considering it now.

Quick! Start his thread before someone else gets to it!

That was your first mistake. Never believe any ā€œrumoursā€.

Maybe xG isn’t the be-all and end-all?

Looks quick, skillful, technical, lots to like I think.

From the little I’ve seen of Frankfurt Omar Marmoush looked like the better of their two forwards before he moved to City. Hugo EkitikĆ© might come good in his own right but this does have vibes of the bad old days where we used to look at a team with a good forward line and sign the lesser partner like Voronin was to Berbatov (or Andriy Shevchenko at international level).

I think his possession stats are a big clue as to why we’re interested, I think it’s pretty clear Slot is after more control than the chaos Darwin provides…

The new Peter Crouch.

Do Hughes have a fetish for hard to pronounce names?

I dont think our guys use externally calculated xG heavily in their model, but conceptually they are building their model based on behaviors/actions that amount to the same thing - is he doing stuff that when done consistently is expected to result in goals being scored. Interestingly, in the various stuff Spearman and Graham has said on the media tours since leaving, they have suggested we’ve actually viewed underperforming xG as an opportunity because it means the player is likely undervalued by the market and with a belief in mean reversion that sooner than later their underperformance will level out.

I wonder if they have moderated any of their thinking on this since Darwin?

I am still curious where Jonathan David will end up

With a name that easy to pronounce evidently not LFC with Hughes at the helm

I believe the formula model they use to decide is

Should we sign a player= (Hughes +Slot)Opinion/expert opinions in TAN

√Target = (((Data Analysis Team Recommendation + Opinion of Coaching Staff + (Potential Commercial Appeal * Number of letters fans will have to pay to have name printed on shirts)/(Transfer Fee + Wages) - 100% chance if transfer thread is opened by Nikola)
