He didnt. The story told by both Graham and Spearman is one of how the human element is still a critical part of the process and once that was factored in the direction Klopp and Pep wanted to the side to go in the data supported the move in that context.

There are questions over Gomez and Quansah. Fitness issues on Gomez. Questions whether Quansah is good enough (maybe needs a loan)

We wont be needing reinforcements in the midfield and wingback positions. But we still do need a CB.

That may all be true, but we aren’t dictating the purchase of our first choice forward by the need (if any) to fund a 4th or 5th choice CB.
