The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

You’ve learned nothing of Chelsea these past few years.

I could imagine this happening, but then I do have a very fertile imagination. Nah, not happening.

Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, 28, is wanted by Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, who are monitoring the Colombia winger’s contract situation at Anfield. (Telegraph - subscription required), external

This isn’t happening either. Going to BM, that is.

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are still confident of persuading Bayer Leverkusen attacker Florian Wirtz, 22, to join them this summer - and not Liverpool. (SZ, in German)

Yes, it could happen, but I think he should wait to see what happens with Aston Villa. Only 20 million? Better check my Mikey’s Millions list.

Brentford are in talks with Liverpool over a deal to sign 26-year-old Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher. (Sky Germany), external

Liverpool want more than £20m for Kelleher. (Athletic - subscription required)

How the fuck they keep making these big money signings and still keep within PSR without winning the league title and the champions league in the last 4 years??

I agree with the principle but the pricetag ends up mattering in the real world. I think if we get priced out of Ekitike, and we might be knowing how Chelsea likes to splash huge fees to gazump us, our fallback plan might be Gyokeres.

They have been doing things like stretching out contracts to 8 years, 10 years etc. There’s all types of accounting tricks that can be used to finesse the money. It might violate the spirit of the rules but at least it’s not outright cheating the way Man City has done it for years and still with no punishment for FFP violations.

You can also sell a hotel back to the bank if you get short of cash. Oh no…wait. That’s Monopoly. Oh no…wait. No it isn’t. That’s is actually what you do.

Why sell back to the bank when you can sell to yourself? You get to keep the hotels and bank the profit to avoid PSR violations. Win-win.

And if that doesn’t work, you can sell your womens team…

to yourself

Fair point. But they did give Jackson an extension on his initial 28 year deal just last summer so can’t see him going anywhere.

But it’s Chelsea so never say never.

Loan ?

I don’t think they’re arsed they hoover any striker available in Europe, PSR does not apply to them.

They will be selling the teams grandmothers back to the club to avoid PSR.

Good luck to Heitinga. 100% record as Liverpool manager? The one where both Slot and Spikey were banned after Everton?

It will be interesting to see who we bring in. I’ve seen rumours about Kuyt and also the fella at Shakhtar whose name escapes me, who used to work with Slot.

I’m hoping Dirk Kuyt gets in on the act.

Is that a sentimental shout? Because if so, you could also say Thiago, Already done badges and has a great football brain. Also knows some of the young lads.

Can you coach from a physio table?

He may twist an ankle jumping up and down.

Slot will bring in his previous no 2 from Shaktar. Surely.

Wouldn’t mind someone like Thiago coming in.

Probably still too early for Milly though. He would be ideal as a coach. I suspect he will end up as a coach once he hangs up his boots.
